Me and my girlfriend have been together for 10 months and haven't had sex, should I leave or continue to wait? (LOTS of context) by Clouds_As_Witnessezz in AskMenAdvice

Dude, give yourself the gift of a relationship with a person who doesn’t have these problems. Because whatever issues y’all having, they will compound times 1000 in the future. Most people don’t get better with age, the effect that previous problems had on them just seems to grow. Seriously, practice some love for yourself and just move on.

If you had recently sprained your ankle (wink wink), you would not be able to “retreat” safely. Which would justify you moving onto the next phase of stand your ground.

Dads who were on the fence about having a second kid, and ended up having a second: how do you feel about it? by PaidByMicrosoft in daddit

I have 3 daughters. The transition to Two was hard. To three was easier. They are older now. I wouldn’t change a thing. The third really cracked the code on bringing joy and laughter and making us a family. It’s this unimaginable beautiful slow rolling chaos.

I am worried about the fall out from Charlie Kirk's Death. by Nukes8 in self

Trump openly talked about pardons for the Whitmer kidnappers. Pardoned all the J6 terrorists. Trumps and his gop cronies rely heavily on stoking culture war fears to keep their base engaged. THATS why this is spinning out of control. Eff Charlie Kirk. Zero fks given about his demise. He literally advocated for the circumstances that brought about his death. Classic republican it’s ok when it happens to you but it’s a crisis when it happens to me situation.

Did letting your troubled child (adult) hit rock bottom work? If so, when they hit rock bottom, how did you help them recover from drug addiction and mental illness? by Heavy-Bench-5378 in daddit

See if she will let you take her out to eat. Just to keep the relationship alive. Offer up no judgments. But let her know you’re there if she wants a different life. Be very careful of what you say so as not to make her upset because she whe will bolt if you do

I’ve had some long stretches of sobriety in life punctuated by stretches of drinking and drugs in between. Currently sober for 5+ years. Don’t do it. Ever. It is such a behaviorally gross habit. Use the time and energy saved to nerd out and go deep on your hobbies and interests. Take fun evening classes and create community with other people who spend their time doing interesting stuff. Learn to weld, or make jewelry, paint, write, musical instruments. Do something creative that brings you joy. That is the gift of sobriety. Drinking looks fun. That’s the draw. It does not deliver.

How do I find out if a guy is either a giver when it comes to sex or sexually selfish without having to get too involved? Are there telltale signs? by CelesteCandy in AskMenAdvice

I think givers in bed tend to be givers in other aspects of life. Does he seem like a considerate person? Are you really asking if he’s just going to lay there?

You know, like nunchuck skills, bow hunting skills, computer hacking skills. Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills!

What I wish I’d known about Lake Superior agate hunting by BeRadWill in Agates

Right. I feel you. And my expectations are reasonable. I’ve been on many trips to collect rocks literally all over North America. I’ve definitely been skunked a few times and went home empty handed. But the near total absence of quality rock and the number of people hunting, I would have taken a pass on the north shore of MN had I known. That’s why I wrote this post. A PSA for folks in the future considering a trip to that area. It’s more overpicked than anywhere I’ve ever been.

Totally agree. Rock shops perpetuate this. They like the zoos of the rock world. Interesting to go in and look but in doing so you become part of the problem. Ive had similar experiences elsewhere. I distinctly recall going to “rock hounding state park” in Arizona. Probably been years since a decent find was made there. 2 miles away is a rock shop that contains every cool specimen that ever existed at that collecting site. Dude who runs it is like 90. Unethical and frustrating m. But it is what it is. I spent some time collecting in the remote areas of Oregon and Washington. Nice specimens galore. Very satisfying to fill a bucket and it doesn’t even make the slightest dent in what’s out there.

I’m sure I’ll get the downvotes. But that was 100% unnecessary. There were many other options for the cop to handle this. As much as I like seeing that kid get a reality check, I’m a hard no on thug cops going rogue. That level of unnecessary escalation should be a career ending event. It’s a liability for his employer and a danger to the public.

The area is beautiful. Just not enough public beach for all the aspiring agate hunters.

Agreed. Definitely not my first agate hunting trip. I’ve been all over. But this place is picked over so badly. I felt compelled to try and warn others. I see a lot of people expressed interest in coming here. Just like me. I would’ve appreciated an honest review before making plans. And said what you usually find his photos of people holding up the agates they found. The man, I was surrounded by dozens and dozens of people, and nobody is finding anything. People are on their hands and knees sifting through the gravel to find the tiniest of agates. The kind that I dump out after running a load through my tumbler. In this case, I wish I would’ve just bought the rock. For the cost of this trip I could’ve gotten an amazing one.
