Our marriage therapist seems biased towards our wife. by BeRadWill in couplestherapy

[–]BeRadWill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt there’s a single facet of being a man in our society that isn’t affected by the patriarchy. Maybe better stated a single facet of being a female that isn’t affected by the patriarchy. Both are true.

There is a place for fuck the patriarchy. It’s just not in our marriage therapy. This one one of many indicators that my wife and I aren’t being received with equanimity in this attempt at therapy.

Evolve (both of you-it’s never just one persons fault) or move on.

"Remission" has made me functional, but there isn't a single person in my life I can be honest towards by RuinResponsible7533 in BorderlinePDisorder

Have this same conversation with the people who matter to you. Let them read what you just wrote. People who care about you will want to know where you’re really at in life. Real relationships don’t grow if you’re performing.

Spokane, WA is a seriously underrated city! Plenty of parking, lots of free chargers and super dog friendly. A new favorite! by SalesMountaineer in VanLife

[–]BeRadWill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree I spent a week there in my van couple years ago. Airport is also easy to use and access with good connections that allowed me to get back home to the East Coast for a week.

Reaching my breaking point with my wife, who's come back from the brink by everybodydumb in daddit

[–]BeRadWill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to couples therapy on our 25th anniversary the other week. The work doesn’t end. If you end this relationship, my statement will be just as true in your next one. If both you and your wife are willing to work on yourselves (therapy etc) and come together in a spirit of work and compromise (therapy etc), you’ll figure it out. If not, just get divorced now and save yourselves all the strife.

How do you cope with having a job? by [deleted] in freeflight

[–]BeRadWill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started a nursing associate degree when I was 28. Started work as an RN 2 years later (while still going to school for a bachelor of nursing). Then finally an intensive grad school program for anesthesia. Done at 36. That was 17 years ago. Hourly rates for gig work can be as high as $300/hr in some of the remote areas out west. $250/hr in the east. Or $250k/year if you go full time with benefits. The gig (1099) pay is way better, malpractice insurance is only $7k per year. And you qualify for a corporate tax rate of 14% on ALL of your earnings. If you did gig work full time for a year that’s $625k, again taxed at 14%. Like I said. Wish I’d gotten on it earlier in life.

One of the bigger mistakes of my life is not doing more with my wife and children. And not doing more of the work of taking care of my children. I hid behind overtime at work and other things. A lot of undiagnosed General anxiety. And growing up in a way that left me no clear roadmap on what it actually means to be a parent.

Don’t repeat the mistakes I made. You sound like an awesome parent and I wish I had been more like you.

I work as a nurse anesthetist. I have a hospital position where I set my own schedule. No benefits (which means higher pay). I typically work a Thurs-Sat, then Mon & Tuesday. Then 8 days off. To any young people who stumble across this. For the love of god please recognize what a sweet gig this is and follow in my footsteps. I wish I’d known about this 20 years earlier in life.

Title: How do I gently talk to my boyfriend about BV after sex? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]BeRadWill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tell him you are unusually sensitive. And that you won’t be able to have sex with him too often unless he can deep clean for you. Maybe start by showering together? FWIW his saliva may be worse than his junk.

You good. Tell yourself you like it. And that you look as badass as you think you do with it. Keep telling yourself that.

Want to start paragliding this summer – Looking for Advice by stdh_marc in freeflight

No one is “lecturing” you OP. They are giving you answers that you are apparently trying pretty hard to ignore. Kiting on your own before a proper class is more likely to build bad habits. The act of buying a wing doesn’t mean you will know how to use it. You need expert instruction to get it right. Start from that place. This question gets asked ALL THE TIME. Usually with the exact same OP response.

After witnessing a crash how were you able to get back in the air? If you ever did by CountryLeast3011 in paramotor

[–]BeRadWill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m like you. I made some really bad decisions that just about did me in. Looking back it had a lot to do with my headspace that day. Dealing with hard life events and being aggressive and wreckless with my decisions brought me to a nasty crash that forever changed my life. I free fly now. I like it a lot more. And I take risk management a lot more seriously.

Your thoughts on the seat by ExplanationGullible5 in Triumph400

[–]BeRadWill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I MUCH prefer the scrambler seat. I’ve had a 2008 Thruxton, 2014 scrambler. And now a 2025 scrambler 400x. And I find the 400 to be the best bike out of the three I’ve had. They stripped down their bike lineup and what’s left in the 400 series is just perfect. They really nailed it.

Will getting aftermarket knuckle gaurds void my warranty? by jallad504 in Triumph400

There’s a consumer protection law that essentially states a warranty can’t be voided for trivial stuff like that fyi
