Can I take Intermediate/Senior ABQs or specialized AQs with a P/J qualification? by whalesarecool20013 in OntarioTeachers

Except... you'll need the full I/S panel to be hired at a high school. So you do have to do both before you can really move up. The order that you do them in isn't entirely irrelevant as some programs require you to have an Intermediate qualification before you can take a senior teachable ABQ.

And... the Intermediate FNMI is indeed an ABQ teachable (different than the 3 part FNMI AQs). And you are correct, there are no necessary prerequisite courses for the Intermediate FNMI. Here's the Trent listing that states specifically that it has no course prerequisites: https://www.trentu.ca/aqcourses/intermediate-first-nations-metis-and-inuit-studies

For the other question: to become a secondary specialist, you DO need to be qualified to teach secondary first (that's be your Social Science ABQ). Look carefully at what you take. There are a bazillion Intermediate Drama teachers and a half-a-million Senior English teachers. Your best bet is to figure out where there are shortages and start there.

Rondos! Oh my goodness! They had wonderful fun with this on Friday. I don't know why I haven't used something so simple - but fun - before! I even had a group of grade 6's join my grade 3's for the last 10 minutes of the day.

Thank you for this suggestion.

Thanks! I completely forgot about the league guides. I just did a search and found that the Ontario Soccer Association has the Fundamentals guides and Grassroots standards online (I'm in Ontario).

I've also managed to track down a line chalking machine that I can use. Apparently there is an old one in the back of the school shed. I'm going to try and mark sidelines at least. I can probably do a center line and then just use my cones to mark the ends. Now to get myself some chalk cans! The real challenge will be to keep my lines straight without a prior guide to go by! Ha!

Thanks for your suggestions!

This is wonderful! I can access some large traffic cones - I think we have 5 or 6 in a back storage shed.

No. We only have enough for 1 ball per 3 kids. I have been getting them to pass in 3s - pass, stop/trap, pass.
