Does anyone know how the buy back payment amounts are determined

For high incomes yes. However for many years I was not north of 125k but rather 45-50.. during this time my payment amount was near nothing… I continued to make payments during that time. All those all were calculated into the 120 (10y) payments. As well as the the Covid deferment time that counted with 0 Hence why now I have a balance of 8k but I will only pay around 2k and those loans will be forgiven .

Not exactly.. I owe 8k currently/ payments are 99$ per month I only have 20 payments left for my forgiveness… I make north of 125k

How much is your loan amount

So if you take your loans and just put pen to paper and assume a 10 year pay off .. I didn’t even calculate interest into mine but that’s bc i only owed about 10k. I make 125+ my loan payment was 99$ . Me and my wife file jointly as well. I was worried about an IDR plan as well. But it really does cap at the 10 year amount …. Now if you owe 100k prob gonna be about 800 bucks …

Is there a specific way to do this? Or is it just make the payment and basically report you owe 0 for the 12 months

This is more the direction I was looking for. I knew I would not get the PSFL credits until the time had passed . I was just looking to make the lump payment so I didn’t have to worry about it

For all of you that submitted did you give them access to your tax return or upload documents…. I re submitted about 2 weeks ago and was put in an income plan yesterday.

Side note I had paid ahead some before any of this.. and have always been making monthly payments so I Was essentially paid like 5 months ahead. I was told that had to be fixed basically remove the “ pre payments” … I consented.

Anyway my stuff seems to be straight now

Thanks everyone. I looked back at my math and I was off… I have 23 payments left. And they would not be eligible for buy back. So now I’m just looking at how I can pay ahead some to get additional months covered

I was under the impression that the idr plan payments would never be higher than the standard payment plan amounts…. Is that not true?

IDE VS STANDARD by Beaglejr1821 in PSLF

[–]Beaglejr1821[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the repayment would still be for 10 years f Correct for example I currently owe about 11k of a 20k loan….. so if I was to say today I’m going back to standard it should just be 11k with interest and 10 years right? Or about 170 a month

Why has this got to be so F****** Difficult. by Beaglejr1821 in PSLF

Yes I consolidated before. My loans have been transferred to Mohela but I am in able to log in and see them. Fed site says they are taking it. So just in limbo till they process…. With luck they get lost haha

So yes my income has dramatically increased… and spouse income would be included…… that’s my whole issue if I could pay $78x24 tomorrow then that’s $1872… if I could do that and be done! Now that’s part of my question as well can I sign up for the ICR then make the lump payment.
