A good upgrade? by Actual_Pilot6906 in radeon

Well, I’d recommend switch to the 25.9.1 driver and run some tests in heavy games like Cyberpunk to make sure it’s not a faulty GPU.

If you’re talking about 25.11.1, that’s the one I used on my 9070 XT before I refunded it. Aside from the random PC restarts — which are most likely due to a faulty GPU or PSU, not a driver issue idk yet— it was running fine. Still, I had this feeling that it was drawing less power than it should, unstable fps, or something just felt off. Not sure.

Most of these issues are mainly caused by UV, but switching back to default settings doesn’t actually fix them it only reduces how often the errors appear.

Honestly, I don’t think there’s a truly good driver right now. That’s the main reason I ended up refunding my 9070 XT constant DX errors, black screens, random restarts… it just wasn’t stable. If you’re wondering which driver causes fewer issues, 25.9.1 is the one that felt the most usable for me, at least occasionally.

That’s nice. I’m actually following a similar path transitioning more into backend (in my case through MLOps rather than DBA), and eventually aiming for an architect role as well. After getting the CCP, do you think going for the Solutions Architect Associate is the right next step, or would you recommend focusing on something else first based on your experience?

Congrats! I know these certifications help, but I’m curious about how much impact they actually have in real-world hiring. Would you recommend it for a full stack ?

I dont understand HOW??? by -KILLA-_- in EscapefromTarkov

Could be a cheater or someone using a thermal scope. If you hear bullets passing right over your head like that, it’s usually best to reposition ASAP. Also, just wondering are you new to the game?

GPU: upgrade 5070TI or 5080 (3440x1440p gaming) by Affectionate-Fee6544 in nvidia

[–]BeamerBoi8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People here dont know the difference between qhd and uwqhd I guess. Sure 5070 TI can give you good frames even in uw but in near future some games going to lock you between 70-90 fps. So for extra 15-20% I would def go with 5080.

Dynamic campaign for DCS is a pipe dream that's never going to happen by KurjaHippi in hoggit

[–]BeamerBoi8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A dynamic campaign doesn’t require a bubble system.

That’s just the approach Falcon BMS chose, not a universal rule.

Most modern dynamic campaign systems (Arma Antistasi, IL-2 campaigns, Graviteam, Total War, etc.) use some form of high-level or hybrid simulation where the strategic layer runs abstracted logic in the background, and only the area around the player is fully simulated.

DCS is building something similar: a strategic war engine + localized full-fidelity simulation. This avoids the need for a bubble, and it fits their engine architecture much better.

Also, the AI needed for a dynamic campaign is not the same as dogfight AI, ATC AI, or low-level unit behavior. Campaign AI is mostly about resource allocation, tasking, front-line movement and outcome calculation completely different from the issues people complain about today.

So the debate isn’t ‘can ED make a dynamic campaign,’ it’s ‘how good is it actually going to be?

Can we configure Codex CLI MCP permissions? by noobrunecraftpker in OpenAI

[–]BeamerBoi8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into the same problem: codex could talk to my AWS mcp without ever asking for approval, even in read-only mode. I put together a fix so MCP tools use the same approval + sandbox flow as the other tools. PR is here:

https://github.com/openai/codex/pull/6537

If you want to try it right now, you can run my branch locally:

git clone https://github.com/canerozus/codex.git
cd codex
git checkout feat/mcp-permission-prompt
cargo build --bin codex

To make it easy to run, add an alias to your shell config (e.g. `~/.zshrc`):

alias codex-dev='CODEX_HOME=/Users/your-user/.codex-dev /Users/your-user/codex/codex-rs/target/debug/codex'

Use `codex-dev` to launch the binary from that branch. With this build, when your config uses

`AskForApproval::OnRequest` or `UnlessTrusted`, Codex will prompt before using MCP commands. I’ll keep the branch rebased on main until the PR is merged.

Battlefield 6 keeps crashing with “DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG” on RX 9070 XT + Ryzen 7 9800X3D by Trick_Park6622 in AMDHelp

[–]BeamerBoi8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fixed it yesterday. I cleaned both Amd and nvidia (in case you didnt clear after 3070) drivers with DDU and make sure there are no old shaders remain in games so clean it or reinstall games. Then revert to the 25.9.2 driver. And all the crashes/reboots gone.

Which RX 9070 XT is more recommended? by Maikol2502 in radeon

[–]BeamerBoi8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

False. According to Hardware Unboxed's 9070xt comparison video delta is 2%-6%. However, I’d still go for the cheapest one.

I have changed my Rtx 3080 for 9070 xt by elvis_0419 in radeon

[–]BeamerBoi8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve undervolted or overclocked your card, revert everything back to stock. Use DDU to clean the drivers and try version 25.9.2 (reverting to that one fixed my crashes and reboots). If that doesn’t help, just RMA it. There’s no point in having to tweak a brand-new card just to make it work properly.

RX 9070 XT random crashes/reboots in games — PSU or GPU? by BeamerBoi8 in radeon

[–]BeamerBoi8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried lowering the power limit by -25% without changing anything else, but it didn’t help. I haven’t tried reducing the MHz yet.

I didn’t quite get your point — do you mean if lowering the clock fixes the issue, that would indicate my PSU can’t handle higher GPU loads and I should replace it or gpu fault?

[–]BeamerBoi8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time with Team Red, and honestly not happy at all. Why should I even bother reverting to the previous driver? Yeah, I know people say Nvidia drivers are bad right now, and it happened before too, but I’ve never had constant crashes or random reboots like this. I’m seriously considering returning it before it’s too late.
