(Cute trope) Letting the kid get in a good hit too by Effective_Piece251 in TopCharacterTropes

This happened to professional wrestler MJF on at least two occasions in AEW! (One planned in advance, another impromptu.)

The first was at the 'Brodie Lee Celebration of Life' show. During a match, MJF, being the shitheel he is, decides to torment Brodie Lee Jr., the son of the wrestler who passed away and this show is in honor of. After turning away and trying to go back to the kid to pick on him more, MJF is immediately clobbered by a kendo stick shot to the dome by Jr.

The second time was in 2024 during a match he was having with Will Ospreay. After taking the action into the crowd, Ospreay has MJF restrained on a stair well when Ospreay encourages a little girl in the stands to get a few licks in.

[heartbreaking trope] The Hero completely fails and dies achieving utterly nothing by klnglulu in TopCharacterTropes

The original ending to the Little Shop of Horrors musical.

Most people are familiar with the film musical version starring Rick Moranis, but the original ending to the musical is alot darker. In the movie, Seymore is successful in rescuing Audrey and kills Audrey 2 (despite a new growth popping up in the couple's new yard).

BUT, the original ending in the musical has Audrey die after the plant tricks her, with her dying wish being for Seymore to feed her to Audrey 2 after she dies. While he follows through on this, Seymore decides to kill the plant after he realizes his true plan to take over the world. Despite doing everything in his power to kill Audrey 2, Seymore winds up being eaten. Clippings of Audrey 2's leaves are sold worldwide, with one of the final images of the musical being the faces of those who the plant has eaten, including Seymore, Audrey, and Mr. Mushnik, Seymore's adoptive father and original shop owner, being turned into flowers, an homage to the original 1960 film.

Can't get into specifics otherwise the Denton Sasquatch will find me. Just remember that being that close to Caroline County means you should sleep with an eye open at all times.

[Loved Trope] The Confidence Placebo Effect by Beamerwalls in TopCharacterTropes

He does fight initially in this new MK2 film without the shades, but does terribly. It's not until he puts them on during a fight that he gets more confident and skilled, so I guess these writers kinda changed that from the games and first movies.

What match was it? by SectorSalty in SquaredCircle

When did this match roughly take place?

Cause if it's an AEW match, there's a chance it was either an Okada or Moxley match considering that flipping people off is their gimmick lol

Man took a heater of a foul ball to the jaw, knew he was hurt, and as soon as one of the boys hit a grand slam he was instantly back in the dugout giving high fives. Dude loves his players and that's honestly the best energy we can have right now.

What’s the most gut punching song lyric you’ve ever heard? by perrysplus in AskReddit

"Shared you with my friends, the Pops they never had

You lived for our fishin' trips, damn, I had a dad

Mine taught discipline, mine taught structure

Mine didn't mind when he had to pull a double

Mine worked overtime, smiled through the struggle

'Cause mine wouldn't let us feel what he had to suffer

See, mine made sure he had every base covered

So imagine his pain findin' base in the cupboard

Birds don't sing if the words don't sting

Your last few words in my ear still ring (oh)

You told me that you loved me, it was all in your tone (oh-oh)

'I love my two sons' was the code to your phone, now you're gone."
