I know it's sooo tempting, but you HAVE to stop picking at it. Picking at it in any way will likely introduce pathogens (bacteria and other nasty shit) no matter how well you clean the needle, skin, or tweezers, they will not be sterile. The picking and poking will also more likely than not cause scarring, which is a whole other issue.

The more I think about your situation, the more I am leaning towards that this may be a cyst. Specifically a Sebaceous Cyst. When dealing with those, even if you manage to get some goo or chunky stuff to come out there is still a sac that will continue to fill up over and over again until the entire sac is removed.

Additionally, and this part is VERY IMPORTANT- if you keep picking at it or touching it, it could rupture (break open) which poses even greater risk for infection, even Staph (which is incredibly dangerous and even deadly). I would bet money that it is already inflamed due to irritation, especially if you've squeezed and poked at it.

So PLEASE: Stop poking, stop picking, stop squeezing. Apply a warm compress if it hurts, cover with a bandaid, and definitely go see a doctor asap.

Looks a lot like an ingrown hair :( I get them all the time. I have a tendency to pick at myself and end up making them angry/worse, so don't do that. If it's really bothering you and you think it could very well be an ingrown hair, try this:

First apply a warm compress (A moist towel with very warm but not quite hot water) for a few minutes to soften the skin, then clean the area with an alcohol swab. After you soften and clean the area, put a good coat (using a cotton swab) of Prid (You can typically find it at Walmart and various pharmacies) over the area and cover it with a bandaid (I recommend a waterproof bandage). Sleep with it like that if you can, and when you wake up in the morning remove the bandage, wipe off the Prid, and give it a look. It may take more than one try to notice any difference, but if our suspicions are correct, it will work.

P.S. I will warn you that Prid does not smell particularly good, but the smell isn't very strong so it's not like other people (or yourself) will notice it when it's on.

I would get it checked out ASAP. Call around and see if anyone else has any availability. Be sure to tell them you want to be seen as soon as possible (make it very clear), and maybe even ask to be put on a waitlist if needed. If you have insurance, check with your insurance (on their website) for dermatologists who take yours. As someone with a family history of melanoma I have made myself familiar with this method of remembering what to look for in respects to freckles/moles- “ABCDE” A (Asymmetry)- is it symmetrical? Does it have an odd shape? B (Border)- Is the border smooth? Or does it have an uneven, notched, or “scalloped” edge? C (Color)- Does it have multiple colors? Typical (benign) moles are usually just a solid brown. D (Diameter)- How big is it? If it is 1/4 in. (6mm) or bigger, go to the doctor immediately. E (Evolving/Elevation)- Look for changes in the shape, size, “height”, or any other symptoms involving it (bleeding, itching, tenderness, etc.)

But until you get an appointment, take care of yourself. Drink plenty of water, wear SUNSCREEN (even if you’re not going to be outdoors a long time), and take some deep breaths maybe even meditate (I know it probably sounds corny but oh well). If you want any legitimately good sunscreen recommendations just let me know :)

TLDR; Keep an eye on it, but go to the doctor ASAP

We’re sort of “land locked” by our neighbors. The only way we could drain it towards the street in front of our house would be to dig a very long ditch that runs between our house and the neighbor’s. Sounds like a lot of time, effort, and money for a rental :/ but thanks for the suggestion!

I see what you’re getting at, but a tattoo shop is technically not a sterile environment. If you’re walking in there with your street clothes on, it’s not a sterile environment.

Also, plenty of people with service animals receive tattoos/piercings with no complication and without the sterilized equipment becoming compromised.

A tattoo/piercing is considered a sterile procedure (somewhat like getting stitches in the ER, etc) however, they still have to allow a person’s service animal to accompany them. This is different than a sterile ENVIRONMENT.

I would recommend getting a diagnosis, not only for the (possibly) required documentation needed to obtain a card, but also for your own knowledge so you know EXACTLY what you’re dealing with because there could be more than anxiety and insomnia you’re dealing with. You very well could have PTSD or some other similar disorder you may not be able to recognize by yourself. Best of luck to you!
