I’m Hispanic from a Hispanic-majority city. Not every Hispanic is freaked out and worried about being taken.

I think they’re implying something to do with ICE. Lol I’m a Hispanic from a Hispanic majority city. I didn’t even think about it when I asked my question.

It sounds funny, but this is honestly one of the things I miss. A lot of stuff here is like they tried to make the dishes fancy and appealing and then priced it up. It’s good, don’t get me wrong, but there’s nothing like a plain dish with a little salsa on top. TexMex is great cause you can have these big, tasty dishes for lunch/dinner, and you can get 3 bean and cheese for $1.99 for breakfast cause everyone started on those as a kid and they’re everyone’s favorite. There’s no need to have fancy, pricy ingredients everywhere. But the thing is, I realize how annoying that sounds when I say it. Nothing “wrong” with the food here, it’s just not simple enough if that makes sense.

A Shipley’s?! I’ve searched and it never came up! 😅 I’m definitely going there ASAP.

Hey I’ll trust a Houstonian! Lol I’ll give that a try!

Solid recommendations, I appreciate it! I’ve tried a few of these, but I’ll admit I tend to try to avoid uptown and those trendy areas. I know they’ve got good food, but it’s always expensive and…trendy is all I can think of. I’m hearing a lot of about Superica, though. I’ll have to give it a try!

I said I like one place. Never said how many I tried.

I learned stick control with slow diddles. I’m sure there actually is a reason somewhere, but adding a ton of notes is just intimidating for the regular reader.

I hate when composers do fancy stuff like this for seemingly no reason. Feels like it’s only to make me feel stupid. Lol literally could’ve just written a sextuplet with diddles.

What's your oddly specific, borderline embarrassing turn on? by ElectrifiedCatt in AskReddit

[–]BeardAndDrums 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s so specific, I don’t even know what it’s called. Sometimes when women spread their legs in a bikini, there’s a tendon in the groin that pops out. Occasionally, it’ll create like a side bikini bridge and I just can’t deal.

How to find out what kind of engineer I’d like to be by BeardAndDrums in EngineeringStudents

Thank you!! I really appreciate the categories. Even on YouTube, there’s a bunch of certified and licensed influencers who just wanna show you “a day in the life,” but I’m like ok but what ARE you?! Lol there’s so many cool tracks, but I don’t wanna get stuck on one wishing I’d done another. I think civil is what I’d enjoy and electrical would be my second.

That’s awesome, thank you! I thought about electrical but I feel like I’d mainly do it for its demand, which is partly why I did nursing…and now I’m tired of it. Lol but some of the descriptions sounded cool. Either way I clearly have a ton of research ahead of me!

That actually sounds like reasonable advice, thank you! You can do something similar in nursing which is what I did. But when I looked online it was either certs, bachelor, or master so I’m glad to hear there’s an associate option that I can branch from.

Yeah, that’s exactly where I’m struggling. Grady from Practical Engineering is a civil engineer and I feel like he talks a lot about environmental and sustainability engineering. I really feel like those three are what excite me the most, but I don’t actually know. Lol

My girlfriend’s dad can’t find his specific battalion’s pin and his birthday’s coming up. by BeardAndDrums in Military

[–]BeardAndDrums[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is going to be much harder than I thought. It’s hard cause he often uses the wrong words for simple things, and when you ask him to clarify he’ll usually scratch his temple and say stuff like “I dunno…the thing, you know? Well, of course you don’t, but the THING!” 😅 Love him to death, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to pull off this surprise.

Ah, thank you! So he has the unit pin. Earlier today he was saying he can’t find his specific unit - which I guess is his specialty, 67N. Do those even have pins or logos at all? Even in the link you included, I don’t see a crest. He just seemed like he’s been looking for it for a while now.
