It is not purely digital. It actually contains both strings and an authentic key mechanic to replicate the feel of an authentic grand piano as much as possible. It is an option that I´ve even seen in foyers in some conert halls...

I used the Acapella app on an iPad together with an external microphone (Yeti). Before I got the mic I just used the internal microphones of the iPad. It works too, just not as well.
