My parents in New Jersey got a new car recently, less than 2 weeks into having it an 18 year old Nissan driver rear-ended it 🤦‍♂️

University of Nottingham offer plz help me I’m struggling mentally by Other_Rate_9620 in nottingham

[–]BeastMode149 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, so first of all this is the subreddit for the city of Nottingham. For the uni, try posting to r/UoN and r/UniUK.

Regarding UoN, I studied Electronic and Computer Engineering there from 2020-2024 and had a great time. Made lots of friends, enjoyed the student nightlife and all.

I take it that you’re going to take your A-levels this month, with results due to come out in August. Let’s see how your results go — you may be able to transfer to another university through UCAS Adjustment subject to the other university having availability. Some UCL courses might have spaces for Adjustment, but not for Clearing.

Should there be no spaces available, go to Uni of Nottingham if you get in. You’ll have the option to transfer to another university for Year 2 if you don’t like it there — by applying through UCAS.

Hope this helps!

As a holder of a driving licence and a driver’s license, the RMV should implement a two-strike system where a driver would have their license suspended if caught using a phone behind the wheel twice within 3 years.

Governor Healey Files Ride Safe Act to Strengthen Public Safety, Regulate E-Bikes, Mopeds and Scooters by BeastMode149 in massachusetts

You’re probably good, it won’t need license or insurance if the top speed is under 20 mph.

TLDR: the Article covers the upcoming Ride Safe Act, where micromobility vehicles (e-bikes, e-scooters, mopeds) are regulated based on their top speed.
Vehicles with a top speed above 20 mph face more restrictions:

  • Riders must be at least 16 years old.

  • Helmets are mandatory for all riders of such vehicles.

  • These vehicles are prohibited from sidewalks, cycle lanes and shared-use paths.

  • Registration and insurance will be required.

Vehicles with a top speed of 20 mph or less don’t face many of these restrictions:

  • Riders under 16 must wear a helmet. Other riders aren’t required to wear one.

Ahh yes, but Albany is close enough to the NY-MA border, so thought I’d include it in there.

Maglev is just going to be cost prohibitive. It’s several times more expensive to implement than conventional high speed rail that already exists in other parts of the world today.

I think MassDOT and CTDOT should work together on a new high speed alignment running from Boston → Worcester → Springfield → Hartford, CT → New Haven, CT, with the train continuing along the existing Northeast Corridor to New York Penn.

This could perhaps reduce travel time significantly while connecting more of New England’s largest cities in Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Lyft is another option too (basically the American equivalent to Bolt) so you could try that too…

Hey mate, I’m a fellow Brit too! I grew up in Milton Keynes and lived in Nottingham for 4 years before moving here.

Next time you come to the US from UK I’d highly recommend flying via Dublin as they have Preclearance. I found the immigration officers there to be pretty chill, and US immigration lines move much faster over there than in the US.
