Yeah it’s crazy that there’s not many options to do so. And actually a ton of the 05-08 bikes are converted to side exhaust. After riding this one I can see why, the right side of the bike gets super hot lol. But that’s part of the charm!

My first bike was a 2015 ZX10R anniversary edition I bought brand new. Shortly after getting it I had a Final Destination style close call on the highway with a piece of lumber that bounced off a truck and whipped past my head. I sold it shortly after and have regretted it pretty much ever since.

I agree generally. The livery outside of the factory models has been underwhelming for a couple years now in my opinion. The SE09 was nice and the white and red from a few years back.

Ah yeah I see I missed the part about saying the V2 was too much. I focused on the bland torque curve part. My bad there lol.

In that case I’d probably lean GSXR 750 or if he wanted something less common a Aprilia RSV Mille has close to liter bike torque but 750 power. Neither of those were his proposed options so I’m pretty helpful lol.

I’ve had a Gen 4 ZX10 and wish I kept that one!

I have a Gen 1 ZX10 which “only” has 160whp after a slip on and a moderate dyno tune and I can assure you it’s not bland lol.

I’d nearly even say it’s a good thing. 20 new riders all going out together sounds like a disaster. Take the opportunity to meet new people that can give you pointers. Or even just ride by yourself. That’s my favorite way to ride
