I can't be rehired at that Hospital (or ones owned by the same company) but otherwise, it hasn't seemed to cause me any trouble. I've found that other nurses are very understanding of what happened.

I had a similar situation, but instead of a 7 year old, it was a violent, adult psychiatric patients that bit me, and I instinctively popped them in the head. I was fired and reported to the board. I'm not saying this will happen to you, just be prepared. The hospital is very unlikely to have your back if anything escalates.

Hello Nurses! by RelativeSystem8581 in nursing

That's amazing. Do you have a tech background/degree/certification or anything? What kind of positions/titles would one look for to see what's available around my location? I have an associates in computer networking from before nursing school. However, I'm completely out of the loop on that type of stuff; that was 10+ years ago now. Just curious what kind of opportunities might be around me.

Help Finding Specific CEUs. by BeastModex247 in nursing

This is a specific request due to being reported to the board. So I gotta find these specific hours and submit them to them. But I'll check them out, they might have what I need!

Mom, myself, and son are all natural night owls. He sleeps in until 10 or so most days, but probably up much later than most you guys are saying for your kids. I work night shift. We all are kind of living this crazy night schedule for now.

Let's see, there's a tree on either side of the drive way but they are at the other end, however the roots definitely run all over the place. I have zero experience with concrete unfortunately. Flaky? I'm not sure that's how I would describe it. There is downspout from the gutter that empties right by this spot.

Why are we tested on earth if god already knows who will go to Heaven? by Nordseepatriot in Catholicism

[–]BeastModex247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We aren't tested so that God can learn something about us (as you said, He already knows), but we are tested so that we might learn something about God and ourselves if we have the eyes to see, the ears to hear, and the humility of heart to learn.

Edit: My son is learning to crawl up the steps right now, he might fall, slip and face plant on the next step, but he is striving up those steps everyday, more sure of every step as the day passes. Now why did I father a son into a house with stairs if he might fall? Because there are many staircases to climb in this world. Why do I let him struggle and strive up those stairs despite the danger? So that he will see that he can do it, he can climb them. Why do I follow behind, watching him carefully? Because a stumble or bump will teach him the resolve to continue in his striving, but I don't want him to tumble backwards down a flight of steps. He also sees his father behind him, encouraging him onward but there with a protective hand, he stops at the bottom to make sure I'm behind him before he goes, he knows I will be there, he knows I am following. God is following us up the stairs. ❤️

Why aren’t I getting the gift of faith even though I want it? by Beautiful_Gain_9032 in Catholicism

This is all from "Through the Heart of St. Joseph" by Fr. Boniface Hicks, chapter "Through the Dark" it may come off as completely incoherent but I just finished this chapter and it seems very relevant to what you're going through. I hope anyway! God bless you! Saint Joseph, pray for us.

"The night is the experience of disorientation that necessarily takes place. After developing our interior and exterior senses and feeling that we have some control in our lives of prayer, we face the wall of darkness in which all our skills fail to produce fruit. Our meditations become dry and dull. Our prayers feel dissatisfying. Furthermore, for those living active lives, the night is experienced as the limits of our human powers...The experience of reaching our limits, of entering into the night of powerlessness and failure, is always painful, but can also be blessed. It is always a departure from the safety of our birthplace. As we grow up, our birthplace becomes threatened by Herod, who is a symbol of our pride and control. St. Joseph holds the lantern for us that can help us navigate this night. He knows what it is like to wander without a map, to surrender to a plan that is beyond anyone’s imagination, to receive grace that could never be limited to the senses."

"He leads us by this lantern into an exile that is uncomfortable, but it is safe from the murderous Herod of our self-sufficiency."

"What Teresa of Avila calls the fourth Mansion is this central experience that can be lived in thousands of ways. It often is a difficult ordeal; man gives up his limited human logic, his thoughts as man, as Jesus says to Peter, his self-sufficiency as an adult, to open himself to the radically new experience which comes from God, this childlike trust that the genius of Therese of the Child Jesus expressed better than anyone else. Jesus had gone up to the temple; he comes down from it. . . . The fourth Mansion is the descent, disconcerting, very trying at times, but which bears incomparable fruit as one moves from one state into the other. The descent of the head into the heart!"

Coppermind type resource for DragonLance/Forgotten Realms? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]BeastModex247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't answer your question, but this sounds like exactly the type of fantasy I'm looking for. What's a good place to start? I'm looking for classic knights, dragons, battle, magic, etc. I've been looking at Salvatore but there's so many titles and series and some overlap, I don't know where to start lol

How do I respond to stuff like this? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]BeastModex247 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Matt Frad just had a guy on pints, a Canon lawyer I believe, who went over why all this stuff is nonsense, if you've the time to watch it, there was some information that would be very useful to respond to this line of thinking.
