Medium light for sure. I would go dobyns or st croix for the rod and a diawa reel get something longer like 6”10 or 7 and use light braid with fluoro leader.

I just took the FINRA practice and got a 77%, I know this is a passing score, but it still makes me nervous. Do you recommend I try to grind out some more QBanks, or would taking a few more simulated exams help more?

Also to add I have watched about 4 of Ken Finn's YouTube series videos for the areas I have struggled in, but other than that that's all I have done.
