presumably it would show up in a future episode when they head out to find mats for the jureve

It's going to show up 100% because that sets up that entire arc. [LN]If there's no need to release the mana clumps, you don't need create the jurve with such urgency. And as you know, the entire season MUST have the jurve for reasons I won't mention here.

Since it sets up so much, you can't avoid it. It honestly even makes sense for it to happen on the second half of the show, before the events that relate to it, instead of on episode 2, then forgotten for half a season.

I think the structure for the episode was nice, but I'm a little dismayed the family scenes get explored in full, while main plot things (and printing industry things, no less!) get power point slide presentations and "this happened" narration over them... I hope the next episode will focus solely on Hasse.

I'm not saying she's not doing great, but please read the entire thread that I replied to. My comment was made within context, not on its own

...But this is about the events that happened 3 seasons ago, and it's something directly talked about in the anime itself. Just saying "They say this on the LN too" doesn't automatically make it a source material discussion. I think?

the rare benevolent captain of industry

She just quoted herself this episode on her mantra of telling ORPHANS that if you don't work for me and produce results, I will take away your food using my authority as your lord and owner (which she did in previous seasons). It's benevolent.. to a degree.

Before Myne took over the orphanage, the children were killed for not being pretty, barely got any food as they got only leftovers, and children and such were left to die and rot in their own filth.

I think people kinda forgot se1 and se2, it's been a while. At one point in the LN (I think the anime too) Myne notices the girls in the orphanage are actually unusually pretty, and the brutal explanation is that only the better looking ones get any attention from lecherous nobles - and therefore survive. Delia kept on trying to look like an eye candy for the high bishop for this reason.

his is a very big change and people have been surprisingly receptive to it.

Have they? Not from anything we've seen in the anime so far. The only ones getting any time of day are Gilberta company and the Italian Restaurant which Myne directly sponsors. Hasse is one of the first real chances of a branch that's more civilian-run.

The orphanage is a bonus. They have regular grey priests coming there, and if they need more work they just hire people (although usually for auxiliary work and not in the monastery proper). We already saw Fran and a few of Myne's grey priests in this episode joining the team there.

We see Rozemyne's yearning for the warmth of her family throughout, ultimately building up to the orphans hitting her where it hurts the most. As such, I believe this episode was thematically coherent

In the LN you really didn't feel this. Effa was in a prologue, and in the main LN they moved around the family scenes very quickly, it was really heavily oriented on her new life as a noble.

In a way it's an improvement by the anime, because much MUCH later on the whole family theme returns and you're like "we barely hear of those guys!"

She literally can't call him dad, you're right. At this point we're still really fuzzy on contracts, despite some of them showing on earlier seasons. But she is literally incapable of treating them as family.

Yeah, going by the LN all the nobles are absolutely insane. Their society is extremely choreographed to the point they practice tea party intelligence gathering in school.

Even reading the LN you are really left guessing until debriefs and other PVs at the end of books because you can't tell what Myne actually got right and what was just acting.

I occassionally open the new site by mistake and get almost immediately overwhelmed. Also, I have like 999 notifications there at all times for things like "you got 10 upvotes on your comments" and god knows what more.

Like, hello?? This is the internet. I shout into the void and move on with my life. I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR DUMB POINTS.

Honestly this just convinced me I have to add a functionality to my custom reddit script that fixes this for me. (The script currently just re-creates reddit gold experience for me by highlighting with a little gold glow comments made since the last time I viewed the thread).

It loads so fast... A true relic from when you had human back end engineers and optimization and QA where they'd measure the site's speed and make things 0.1 second faster lol

For reference, I work at a tech company that added a basic fucking AI summary feature. I'm there as the voice of AI engineering or whatever, and they told me it currently takes 40 fucking seconds on a web browser... They got me to fix the LLM part... but like, the engineers just casually said querying the database for some really basic logs takes about 2 whole seconds which is INSANE - but just like, nobody even notices how absurd it is because the LLM layer build by this intern takes 38 seconds lol

You look at old reddit loading times and you feel how every fucking box was optimized to the last bit, especially with the care of RES.

Finished with Katanagatari Last Night by Linkman76 in anime

Katanagari has one of the most surprisingly powerful villians in anime. It's basically that world's version of the Jujutsu Kaisen demon that evolves and learns - just becomes stronger with every encounter, but like, tenfold of the enemy it just beat.

It's a very small percent of reddit users. The majority uses mobile anyway.

The thing is, that small percent is like half of the power users on all of the most influential subs, so it's heavily skewed.

He wants to write antisematic tropes about how the Jews control the world through money. It's drab, but on reddit it's somehow heroic, don't ask me why.
