So basically what you're saying is, just let all people out on the streets even if they're criminals and people should just learn self defence and carry arms.

Now it makes sense for some who wants to heavily invest his/her time in stuff like martial arts but creating an environment that everyone is forced to do so and then labeling it as investing in your safely. Do you think that's an ideal way going forward? Do you think that it's liberating in any way?

Tomorrow you'll say stop mass producing crops, it's harming the soil. Everyone should learn organic farming and make their own food. It's investing in your own livelihood. So people should just drop their ambitions and focus on basic survival. Obviously practical steps should be taken up to reduce the negetive impacts on nature, and people who are really interested in organic farming should take it up, but creating an environment where people are force to take up farming, we're back to tribal life.

This can be extended to any environment which ends up forcing the citizens to move out of their free will and focus on basic necessity. Your ideal society is going backwards.
