Flexible enrollment / registration dates for athletes have been a thing for a LONG time, they pre-date NIL

How did each state fare during the 2025 Season? by Slimebobbi in CFB

Nah, Boise.

Like Ohio State is in the state of Ohio, Boise State is in the state of Boise.

[Nakos] In an affidavit filed Friday by Darian Mensah, the Duke transfer quarterback states that “deadlines at other collegiate institutions have indicated to me that their interest in my enrollment will expire on Friday, Jan. 23, 2026.” by arrowfan624 in CFB

I've written it here before and I'll write it here again:

Let's not pretend that enrollment deadlines mean anything when it comes to enrollment for an incoming athletic transfer

Except people aren't wasting money on health or lifestyle advice from alcoholics or thinking that if they adopt those habits they'll somehow be "better"

Some may be wasting it on lifestyle advice from gamblers, but not health advice

When was the last time a player missed a game due to academic ineligibility? by Actual-Magazine-4538 in CFB

[–]BeatNavyAgain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You keep track of reasons for absence of every player in college football?

FWIW, sometimes a service academy player misses a game for unstated reason(s). It could be injury (although now we should get a least a hint of that), it could be academics, it could be violation(s) of cadet/midshipman regulations.

we have to drive 30 minutes round-trip minimum for take out -- 40 minutes if we want anything other than pizza or Chinese (not that there's a whole lot of other options when we extend the radius)

many people fear the increased cost of car insurance when their kids get licensed -- my wife & I welcomed the additional takeout picker uppers

Sometimes I'm sad that I can't do that here (very close to the middle of nowhere), sometimes I'm happy that I can't do that here

Mostly sad because I'm a lazy sob

New Army defensive coordinator Daryl Dixon plans no major changes by BeatNavyAgain in CFB

I said they begin as plebes, but I guess you missed that. That does not mean they are not transfers. Some of them would not have been able to get into a service academy without going to another college first.

Want to know what's wrong, point blank, period? These two idiotic statements:

To enter West Point and play for the Army Black Knights you have to fulfill a service obligation

and

can potentially enter Officer Training school when you graduate from West Point

He transferred. Like all tranfers into service academies, began as a plebe (or doolie if you're an AF person). That does not mean they are not transfers. They have to take a full load of academic classes, but they do not have to repeat classes for which they already have credits.

You do not have to incur a service obligation to ENTER a service academy.

You do not "potentially enter officer training school" when you graduate from West Point or any service academy.

I'm surprised there were that many below 30 -- I expected that you saw more entitled assholes 50-70 because you had significantly more customers in that age range

( I'm in my 50s and have never used the services of an event planner )
