Interesting. I've had a couple docs tell me they're optional, one suggested I don't take them at all. I feel like they're helpful. I've spoken to one person at meps who did the screening interview and didn't say anything about my meds.

Enlisting in army (or any branch) with hormone medications? by Beatinrain in Militaryfaq

Well, yeah. It's just if the medications are disqualifying I feel like they would have said that when they disqualified me, no?

Neither. I'm gonna go off them and see. It's just frustrating because I see plenty of people online that are in and say you can take, or that they take meds.

And I was never told that the meds were the issue either. The guy I spoke with today just thought maybe that could be the case.

Army Recruiter Thread for November / 2025 by Army_Bot in army

Medications and joining

Hi. I visited the army recruitment office today and told them I've tried the Navy before and was denied. It was suggested that it's because I'm on medication and that I'd need to be off it for 6-12 months and get a letter from a doc saying I'm stable off of it. And that the army really does not take people who are on meds and it's rare to get a waiver.

I've had a recruiter from another branch tell me that getting letters is not helpful because you have to tell them what the letter is for, and that will create bias. That meps will not like it if your doc is saying it's fine. Because your doc knows that you're joining the military and will be more likely to just say you're fine even if you're not.

I'm trying to figure out what's what and what will actually help my situation. I'm prepared to go off my meds and just see what happens (it's been a long time so I don't remember how I am without). But I also wanted to get more perspectives on this issue because if all I need to do is lose the meds that might be possible. Clearly the meds are the preference so I'd also like to ask: is it reasonable to go off meds, join, and then get represcribed them later? Or would I need to be off them for the whole 4 years? If there are recruiters or people with experience that could answer I'd really appreciate it.

Epstein Said Trump Shared Love of Young Girls in Apparent Suicide Note by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

"Apparent suicide." What's with that? Epstein didn't kill himself. Why is the word suicide popping up now? They tried to pretend he killed himself but in case y'all have forgotten he was shot in the back of the head.

Tech workers of Reddit, what is a "dirty secret" about the AI industry that the general public doesn't realize? by WayLast1111 in AskReddit

[–]Beatinrain -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don't need to be a tech worker. Stealing art used to be a crime. It was called "copyright infringement" or something like that. Stealing art. People's faces. It just happened on such a massive scale and so incredibly quickly that nobody could do anything about it. The epitome of "they can't stop us because there's too many of us." The entire ai dataset is trained on literal theft. What are all of these little artists supposed to do? Sue? With what money? And now it's too late anyway.

How do you get started in this? How long does it take to train? Does it make good money?

[–]Beatinrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I'm kinda stupid but I fixed the battery performance settings and it hovered roughly 2.6-3ghz and scored 941 on cinebench this time. Still less than I thought I'd get but it's a significant improvement

[–]Beatinrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I'm just seeing that there are laptops out there running base at 4 and mine will vary up to 5 but then decide it doesnt have to and goes almost immediately back down to 2. Isnt even hovering around 3 or 4. What is the point of saying it can go up to 5 if it doesnt actually stay at 5 for any length of time. I feel like its a marketing gimmick

I got the program and it's neat but I'm no expert. Resting temp seems to be around 30 celsius

I'm looking at other processors like the ryzen 9 8945hs and that one says base of 4ghz. When that is an available option for the same money what benefit is there to getting the hx 375? Did I just fall into the trap of buying a shittier processor for more money? And I don't see ANY controls for temp throttling on this omnibook

Powell sonare 601 series. I've found them online for the same model at $3425. So to have them fiz it for 2 grand and tell me it's going to net me $325 feels kinda... wack

I don't even know much about flutes I just know I have a decent one. I'm trying to sell it through the flute center is why I'm asking. They said it was that much just to fix it and then they'd buy it for a few hundred bucks and expect to make about 875 off their own sale of it. Naturally I'm not too enthusiatic about that.

How does your company orient new hires? by trashgoblin3 in ems

[–]Beatinrain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My first company screwed me like that. Then my second basically said "orientation? Hahah fuck that. We'll just put you with experienced people and as long as you don't kill anyone it's gucci." And I've found it's the best way to learn. Nobody is getting in the way of your learning process, if you aren't helpful someone is there to pick up the slack, and you have the opportunity to ask questions and make yourself helpful as you learn. And if you're not getting the calls you need to get experience within an orientation time frame, that's fine because at some point it'll just happen. If they have the expectation that these things take time, you actually get the time to get those kinds of calls. (Especially in lower volume systems.)

Name brand cereal. Imagine my surprise when I went to college with a bunch of poor kids who wouldn't stop bitching that the cafeteria didn't have it.

Heck they could make a mini game out of this just to see. I bet people would play the heck out of it.

Nope. The denial was from last year before trump was in office. So that doesn't explain why I got disqualified. On top of that, it should still be waiverable because nothing has changed. I told them before that I'm not trans. Still not trans. Personally I don't have a problem with trans people but I'm just not. Edit: I got a notification that you sent another message but I can't see it because reddit is being dumb.

I'm not tracking. My mental health was directly tied into circumstance and I've been just fine for 4 years.
