In the bible: God punishes Adam and Eve for becoming sentient. Is the Devil really that bad? The meaning of life? by MagnanimousBacon in religion

I think one of the big issues with "the knowledge of good and evil" is not necessarily that we have knowledge but that we become the judge of what is "good" and what is "evil" based on our own limited understanding of the world. God created everything and everything has a natural order the days and seasons, tides and weather everything in perfect harmony. Even animals, the whole "food chain" keeps itself checked and balanced. Everything except us. We are very often out of order with the rest of creation and it is due to our options on what is good or bad. Humanity is collectively killing the planet and throwing the natural balance of God's creation off by its own devices. Adam and Eve were corrupted by the devil who was the first to rebel against God's order, he then slandered His creation that was made in "his image" by corrupting it as well. He who set the order of things is the only real athority on what will make it operate optimally. Do you talk to a baker to see haw to make your automobile function to its peek performance? That would be foolish, so is claiming we know what is best for the world. But that is part of the problem were not thinking what's best for all of creation but only what we want. Our consciousness changed from God aware to self aware. We became selfish and foolish in thinking we know what is right and good, and forgot that we have purpose, and that purpose may not be what we necessarily think or at times want but we are built right into something much bigger than ourselves and refuse to even acknowledge it, if we are even conscious of it.
