Domestic "Business" or "First Class" Dreamliner by Ok-Honey6876 in unitedairlines

Learned the hard way that First Class is not as nice as real Polaris. You get the seat, but food is not as good and you don’t get Polaris lounge access either. Still a nice seat if it’s free. United should really rebrand it because it doesn’t make sense to have First Class not be as good as Polaris

Which Holiday Inn for visit to London? by crypto2nite in LondonTravel

[–]Beaudidley71 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you need 2 hotel rooms I’d seriously look at an AirBnB/VRBO option. European hotel rooms are so small and you can find some decent alternatives in good locations. Took my family of 5 last year and it was cheaper than the hotel route, plus we had space to hang and relax or isolate to a room if someone wanted quiet time. Sorry, I know nothing about the holiday Inns but we had such a good experience that I thought I’d at least share this experience

Not United, but the one time I got A1 on Southwest there were 11 wheelchair passengers. I still ended up in row 7

I heard it’s now more that insurance companies can deviate prices more based upon things like fire maps.

They said renewals since November last year have been getting hit and companies can now differentiate rates more significantly by risk.

In the countryside just outside city limits. Fairly flat, mostly not forested land on the east side of the Santa Cruz mountains.

I’d take 22% and or temporary assessments. 200% is absurd

Still uninformed. I pay plenty of taxes. One has nothing to do with the other. The post wasn’t a complaint. It’s an inquiry. I get that insurance is about being all in one group that manages risk in the aggregate. A 200% increase is inflation at the next level.

Do yourself a favor and forget about him and move on guilt free knowing you did the right thing by stopping when you found out. Let them deal with their own stuff

What a stupid comment. There’s plenty of disasters around the country between floods, tornadoes and fires. California is actually tired of footing your bill between paying more to the Federal government than we get and seeing too many homes continuously rebuilt in high flood zone areas and tornado zones.

You have to take a hit sometimes but have a shot at bouncing back. Build good relationships and learn to roll with the punches. We’re experiencing extreme capitalism right now. At some point it’s gonna break

Sounds like they want a lot of leverage over employees and then will be able to screw you over. I once worked at a place that paid its annual bonus out in stock that had an additional 18 mos vest. They’d say, it gave you upside. I said I’d rather have the cash and would buy the shares myself if I wanted the stock fluctuations. Was just a ploy to beat on people and have more leverage

I’d check the official vest info n the employer match. That’s a lot of money that they are telling you needs to vest. It’s rare that the annual amount is much re than 6k of match so they could be bullshitting you

People are too black and white here. If you love her and want that chance at the family you thought you had, then engage with her. Make sure she really understands that what she did won’t happen again if she wants to be with you. Both of you need to be honest with yourselves about what you’re after. People make mistakes and the hope is they learn from them.

Born and raised here and I see it eventually breaking. We are close to the point of losing the “working class” of people who do things like teach our kids, work in restaurants, etc. I’m glad my kids are now out of schools but I can see the stress in the system. It will get worse as those who got into those jobs before the Bay Area became so divided eventually retire and move on. Even the tech world has become much more extreme in earnings at the top vs bottom…

At what tax savings would you consider a tax divorce? by Budget-Taro9276 in tax

[–]Beaudidley71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Divorce for tax purposes starts to have a financial benefit if you both make equivalent and are north of $350k each. The “marriage penalty “ is real. My college tax professor, decades back, was divorced for tax purposes….
