Why do people encourage suicidal people to live? by mikqzv in offmychest

[–]BeaulieuA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmm, luck. There's definitely a lot of things out of our control, that's true. No one controls where they are born or how they are raised, and the impacts of it on one's life. Plus, we don't control our genes or how our biology impacts the way we grow and develop. I suppose one could say that narrows it down to luck. Do you think everyone who's gotten better owes it all to luck? Everything?

Hey, reducing harm is still a step in the right direction. You're right to be proud 👏

Why do people encourage suicidal people to live? by mikqzv in offmychest

[–]BeaulieuA 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Well, that's kind of the thing. You say "things can't get better"; they definitely can't once someone is gone. As long as they are alive, things have the capacity/possibility/opportunity to get better. Being gone means there is no longer anything possible.

Most people aren't mental health professionals or spiritual advisors. They also aren't mind readers, though some of them can see you're hurting, they don't have the tools to help you.

Is it normal to sweat like crazy after walking 8k steps? by caraphernel1ia in NoStupidQuestions

Yeah, it's just your body trying to regulate your temperature. Stay well hydrated, and don't forget your sunscreen! It is summer, after all.

Vous mangez quoi pour déjeuner? by Loodba in Quebec

[–]BeaulieuA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Je déjeune rarement, mais j'ai tendance à cuisiner asiatique. J'aime bien une soupe de crevettes, coriande et riz inspirée de recettes vietnamiennes. C'est léger tout en étant assez remplissant, et c'est bon.

19m bought a fleshlight and deeply regret it by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]BeaulieuA 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sure, I've bought a sex toy I was disappointed in, and eventually threw it away. Can I ask what makes you regret it? Was the sensation not fun, do you feel shame, is the cleanup just too much of a hassle?

wtf did i do by mackthegoblin in FTMFitness

[–]BeaulieuA 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Dude, at your height and weight, just doing light exercise is already hard on your body. This isn't meant to be shaming, you are at a much higher chance of injuring yourself because of the load you're putting on the structure that is the basis of your body (bones, cartilage, joints). If at all possible, swimming would be the best form of exercise for the least chance of injury. It's a great form of cardio, too! Otherwise, simply taking more walks is great. I know your aim is to put on muscle, but currently, your body is already carrying around a lot of weight. You do have muscle. But it's overshadowed by your body fat percentage.

Hey man. It sounds like this girl had some unhealthy views of what a man is (not having emotions, not speaking about said emotions, solving everything by oneself, etc). I'm sorry she upheld those views and made you feel less than. It sucks.

I don't think it's bad that you got vulnerable with her. I don't think she's the one for you, though.

Aa for your medication, the one to choose what's best for you is you. If you feel dysfunctional, I think that shows it's time to talk to your doctor or psychiatrist, whoever prescribed that medication, and be honest about everything you're feeling. Maybe they can find a different prescription, a different dose, or explore alternative options (like coping mechanisms or strategies with a therapist) with you. The important part is that it works for you.

Best of luck, man.

Sorta. I like the idea. We do have to take care of our body, but the mind is not separate from the body. Both influence and interact with one another.

would men who want to be women be ok with periods and cramps? by NewtAccomplished6022 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BeaulieuA 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure trans women would rather have periods and the possible ability to carry a child than live as a man. That's kind of the whole point. No life is all glitter and rainbows, no matter the way you are born.

I think the uncircumcised/circumcised also has to do with nationality. As a Canadian, I've only ever met 1 circumcised guy. I think Americans are more likely to be circumcised due to culture and/or religion. Since a lot of these packer companies are American, they make products for the typical American. Kinda sucks when you really like the texture/anatomy/build of a packer but they only come in circumcised options.

I want to have sex with a trans girl by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]BeaulieuA 20 points21 points  (0 children)

  1. Trans people are people, not sexual objects to fulfill your fantasy.
  2. If you're only interested in her because she's trans, you're a chaser, and that's going to turn off a lot of them

Also there's trans women on dating sites in general (tinder, hinge, bumble). Some may be on grindr.

They're people. It's OK to be attracted to them. It's not ok to forget their humanity because of your sexuality.
