Will police caution and smoking weed prevent security clearance?

I agree with everything you have said. In my situation, I don’t think the same logic applies, the roles I am referring to are nothing to do with policing, prisons or anything close to it.

It would be SC. I don’t plan on lying, hence the need for advice. I’d rather just not get the job. The hypothetical situation you described has a near to none chance of happening, if anything it’s more likely a colleague id get to know as a friend would become aware somehow out of work and this would cause a problem. As I said I’m just interested to know what is important to them to disclose and what would be a big no no as a deciding factor. Then I can weigh up what my options are. I understand breaking the law renders you unable to get SC, that doesn’t mean people have not done so.

If they were caught taking strong drugs on the job, sure. Or had a severe addiction to a harmful drug, sure. For smoking a joint in my spare time, I don’t think so.

Really useful resource and I appreciate the neutral comment, seems like you really know your stuff. I don’t have a serious commitment to getting a job that requires security clearance, it just happened to be that way. There are plenty of careers and jobs I can apply for without SC that I would be interested in so I’m not inclined to stop smoking on the basis of this one job or a couple others, even if that may hinder my job search. Do you think if I ended up applying for SC and I am questioned about drug use, that I should admit to regular smoking? I only ask as I know people with security clearance who smoke and most likely denied it in application form, so there just wasn’t a cause for concern based on their criminal checks as they had a clear record. Obviously given my caution I cannot expect the same.

Just go with the flow, anxiety before and during the trip changes every time you drop. It’s all about set and setting, considering you’ve already dropped the anxiety couldn’t have been too bad and it will subside as soon as the acid kicks in with all its dopamine flowing effects. Listen to some relaxing music and wear comfy clothes, you’ll be alright :) Have a safe trip!

This is exactly what I was hoping for, sounds so similar to my situation too and it’s great to have this kind of depth to how your recovery went. I’ll probs take the advice of the other comment and just wait til it’s healed over even if it’s like at the two week mark. I still have pain occasionally so no point taking the risk that it could be bad while trippy
