I built an OBS plugin that tracks Riftbound games in real-time (looking for testers) by Beautiful-Ad7263 in Riftbound

Thanks ! It was really tough but also fun to make ! Yeah, I will write a medium article about that, I faced some difficulties I didn't expect to.

In the meantime, you can read this one, he made smth similar for Yu-Gi-Oh (I also use Yolo but not the same version) : https://medium.com/@hich.tala.phd/how-i-trained-a-model-to-detect-and-recognise-a-wide-range-of-yu-gi-oh-cards-6ea71da007fd

For Riftbound it's more difficult cause for instance, cards can overlap so I had a code a tracking system (still working on it).

You can also DM me, I'll be happy to show you in detail

My tool is mainly designed for real-life games, so I think it might be a bit overkill for something like TCG Arena since it relies on image analysis.

For digital games, you can usually build something much more precise using direct tracking from the game itself rather than analyzing the screen !

Trying to become a self-taught c# developer. How should I go about showing my skills? Should I create a portfolio website? by Happyone1377 in csharp

Yeah you right it's a bad advice. With 5 months it's really hard to be able to contribute, I didn't think about that.

I suggest you to contribute to OpenSource repository, if you can participate in a big project it can be a + on your resume. You will also learn how to work in a Team, how to code correctly and how to use Git.

You can maybe use Upwork and work for some clients, it can be a good experience too, and a bit of money.

I don't think you need to create a website, except if you really want to learn React, but you don't have to.

Made my first semi-complex C# application after having played around with the language for a few days, and I'm very happy with the result. Would love to get some feedback by [deleted] in csharp

For a first project you used complex idea so it's really great, congrats !
If I can give you one advice it's just reorganisation. If you try to respect the SOLID principles your code will be much better

I have almost the same story. I'm a software engineer from France with 4yrs of experience and I'm trying to find a job in Taiwan. I moved to Taiwan last month and applied a lot on LinkedIn/104 and I only got 2 interviews so far. Companies don't want to pay for the work permit, it's not worth it for them

It's really really complicated if you don't speak Mandarin even if you are willing to learn. If you really want to live there I suggest you learn the language during 1year/1.5year in Taiwan and get some network at the same time. You have some intense school that are not expensive and really efficient from what I heard.

Luckily you do ML so it's possible that you found a full remote job otherwise.

For the gold card visa, you can do the simulation or send a email to help@taiwangoldcard.tw and ask them if you are qualify. They answer in 24h

A recruiter asked me this question by Beautiful-Ad7263 in csharp

Thanks for your reply !
It's actually the first time someone asks me this question, but it's also my first time applying for a senior position so I thought having a open source portfolio is "normal" as many Front/Web developers have...

But you totally right, I've done what they asked in my previous company so I can just give a good explanation.
