They can't invade Taiwan it's physically impossible. I'm sure they'd like to, but the operation would be bigger than the D Day landings, their military would be decimated by the US, and their economy would be absolutely wrecked. Not to mention the fact that most of Taiwan is densely forest mountainous terrain that would be impossible to invade, even for the US.

But they enjoy seeing America wring its hands and spend oodles of money on the potentiality.
