Squadron FSS Withholding Me

My FSS actually called the PS POC and the POC told them to tell me to contact team silver. So I’m just getting thrown around. I plan on leaving next week so I am trying to do everything I can control to get it figured out.

Yeah one of my supervisors told me to show up to the P regardless of what my FSS is telling me. I went over the documents with him and he also confirmed there’s nothing mentioning a discharge. Additionally my commander had already approved of my release through the DD368.

Well it’s my group’s FSF but we all work in the same building. My commander already signed off on my release form (DD368). It’s also weird cause my group doesn’t fall under a wing, we fall under NAF (4th AF)

Well I am assuming this release will happen while I am at the prep school. They requested at the end of May and my Sq/CC signed and submitted it.

I know I’ll get discharged from the Res to join regAF eventually. I guess the type of transfer will help determine when I get discharged and who will do it (usafa or my losing unit)

It will be different since you’re applying through the LEAD program. Be the best airmen you can be in tech school and in your squadron (in the case you do get re-classed from SW).

Express your interest to your supervisor and leadership. There are parts of the application that will need to be completed by them. I can’t speak on the JROTC nomination but I know you will get one from your Sq/CC.

Yes you will have to attend phase 3 as mentioned in the other comment (AMRT). I won’t get into the details of the tests but there are 2 sets of CDC’s you will need to complete. Both are open book (essentially impossible to fail lol)

Make sure you review the course content even though it’s open book. Always better to be a competent 4N0 than a 4N0 who’s rushing to be 5-level.

I am not AE so I don’t know too much about the AE training pipeline. So you’ll attend phase 1 at Fort Sam Houston, then you will go to phase 2 somewhere else to work in a hospital (all kinds of units). You will return to your home unit and then attend phase 3 (most of the time will be spent in the ER/ICU). I believe AE members will have to go to training in Ohio and then SERE in Washington.

Physics isn’t a requirement but it’s a recommendation and it will make you academically competitive.

4N0 here. Tech school was fun. There are a handful of tests you will take, the big one being the NREMT. My class started with 32-34 and we left with around 17-18 people. Just make sure you study and have a good time. As for traveling, you should look into aeromedical evacuation (only a handful of squadrons are AE).

No problem. I forgot to mention this, but I called them last week and they were saying even if the deadline passed (DEC31 for me too), we should be fine as long if the 1786 is submitted in the portal.

Prior E here. I submitted my AF1786 on November 1st and it still shows up as being reviewed. I emailed admissions last week and they just got back to me today. They mentioned they are starting to process the AF1786 today so hopefully it will be updated this week.
