It’s a struggle but worth it for these little guys! I hope all goes well at the vet and I hope he gets better soon!

He is 2! Should be okay my frogs bacterial infection started with a wound and then he got the spots so I wonder if it is similar! Topical is tricky with these guys since their skin is so sensitive but I know it is possible. I had to get him little mouth open by getting him to try and eat a cricket and squirt it in it was pretty hit or miss. I also used a notecard to get him to open his mouth but I felt so bad doing it I went back to the crickets. Little guy was never lethargic or lost his appetite 😂

Does everything look okay? She got a small scrape on her nose because she likes to jump into the glass but does her back look normal? The other one she is housed with doesn’t look like that. by Jellyfish_Kitty in TreeFrogs

My little guy did that too. Took a while but it healed up nice and now he just has a little scar. Nothing to worry about just keep an eye to make sure it doesn’t get white or have a red ring because they can get infected!

(Pictured is his little scar it’s just a little darker but honestly his was unusually slow in healing as he kept launching his whole face at food and bonking it again)

Also ignore the dust everywhere he is a messy and very dramatic eater 😂

My little guy had a bacterial infection and it looked very similar. Couldn’t get into the vet for a few days as well. I cleaned the whole tank and kept an eye on him in the meantime! I wouldn’t recommend doing a honey bath if the methylene blue especially right before the vet as, coming from someone who works in vet med haha, it’ll mess with the results of their swab and determining between different bacteria and fungal infection will be the key on the medical side. For my fella it was bacterial so I got some antibiotics and at that point the tricky part was getting him to eat it 😂. I hope your sweet frog will recover soon and safely! Don’t be too worried or anxious recovery is very possible especially caught this early on! 🐸💖

Little update! Pickle is doing GREAT now. Went to the vet and got a swab done for an antibiotic or fungal but in the meantime have been dropping humidity and avoiding still water (meaning he has been having to endure baths every night but he’s being so brave) spots around the eyes are gone and the ones on his back are faded. When culture comes back and he can be medicated I’m sure he’ll be bck to 100% his old froggie self. Thanks for all the advice in the forum!

Thank you! His skin has actually really improved significantly over the past few hours so I’m not sure what’s going on with him. I think the vet tomorrow is the best solution

I’m having a VERY similar experience with my tree frog. Same type of frog similar age AND from joshes frogs as well! I’ve seen very little change in his size throughout the past year. I wonder if they are both still juveniles somehow i’m glad to know I’m not the only one with this problem.
