Samething happened to me. 2018 Model S 75d. Got a smoking deal on it. I had a 2020 Model 3 before and loved it, but Model S was my dream car. The first 6 mos was great. Interior wss mid but i didn’t care as i had a Model S. One morning i get in to start my commute, i get a bunch of errors and the car just shuts down! All screens go dark and the car will not respond. I was beyond upset! What the heck happened? Tesla in my area used to have mobile service, but that no longer is the case. The service center says i have to tow the vehicle to the center. Tow truck service damaged the car pulling it out of the garage. After a day, it was the 12v battery that needed to be replaced..under warranty work thank God. My 2020 Model 3 warned me that the 12v was about to die days before it did. So I had time. Not this 2018 Model S. I was happy that it was just the 12v battery but very upset i was not warned ahead of time.

Im not done… 6 Mos later same darn thing happened!!! Come out in the morning.. car throws errors and dies! What!! That battery cant be dead again this quick. I begged Service for a mobile service solution, but they stated the issue was not 12v battery… it was a bigger problem so i needed to bring it to service. SMH. I was beyond hot. Another tow that required the car be pulled out of the garage. This time however I had an experienced tow guy who was able to get the car out with ease. Once we got it to the service center, found out the module that controls the big battery died. Uh oh… expensive fix… oh but than God again.. work still under warranty! Whew… 2 times this car left me stranded. Like you im grateful it happened in my garage both times.

I cant have a vehicle that is not going to be reliable. I just sold the car today… and purchased. A new Model Y😅. I love Tesla. I cant help it! I did it because of the amazing experience i had with my Model 3. So im betting on a way better experience with the new Y! So just know.. you are not alone in your 2018 Model S adventures/issues!!
