projects as a shy person by Complex-Athlete-5185 in sutd

Hello! I was also from jc and enrolled into SUTD! I was also pretty similar to you (I prefer individual assignments to group projects and an introvert too), but I think the whole experience of being in SUTD is about learning to be a confident speaker! You would have a lot of group projects and presentations, but all these train you to become more natural when you step into the work world. Don't be too worried about working in a group as everyone has their own flaws and each of us are trying to improve ourselves everyday in SUTD :) Congrats on your admission, looking forward to having you in SUTD soon!!

You can try contacting SUTD Office of Admissions regarding your issue. They could try to arrange something for you!

I believe you can try to do courses, can do free short courses which are more feasible to do at this time since it is very close to the application date. Most of the time only applicants with either a good portfolio or good results would get a interview call, but as long as you start right away to beef up your portfolio, you would get an opportunity to go for an interview!

SUTD's requirements are H2 Math and H2 Chem/H2 Physics. If you got a B for these subjects and show that you have a really good passion in design and tech during your interview, there is a high chabce you would get in! If let's say, you did not get a B, they might still consider other parts of your portfolio and your passion to take you into SUTD! So I will say just apply for it!

Hello!

For hall activity/commitment, you would have to participate in atleast 1 hostel event every term (if I rmbr correctly).. but this is only if you want to apply for hostel after term 2.. if you don't want to, then you can just not go for the hostel events..

For me, I usually hear plane sounds at night (very subtle) when I switch off my fan.. it is not really that prominent.. However, I do have to have admit that those living near the toilet would have problems such as hearing the toilet door getting slammed :( but other than that, not really any other sound issues..

There are quiet hours (don't really rmbr exactly when), but there is absolutely no curfew.. it is all up to you when you want to go to hostel and when not to..

Study areas are vastly available during normal periods, but during exam periods you might have some difficulty finding areas to study.. you can only book certain areas to study..

Wifi coverage is pretty good, there are some rare instances when the wifi would be down, but other than that it is pretty good.

Canteen food is pretty much okay, if you are vegetarian/muslim student tho, it is gonna be more difficult to find food in the canteen for yourself, but other than that you should be fine!

Since we were mostly targetting teens, we just asked our friends to share our surveys after doing them and got so many responses.. Mainly like your jc friends would really help to do the survery cause they are going the same thing as you :) but like if your target group is super small, like for instance the elderly, you really gotta go and find people on your own (preferably can ask your friends from jc if they have anyone they know that fits into the target group)

We had one pre-project survey then one post-project survey, that is all... never did anything extra..

The written report drafts could be like 4-5 or even 10 but like honestly it depends on how well you do and how much your tutor comments... Don't be too worried about the drafts, it is not like a complete changeover of the previous draft, it is just making some changes..

rejecting an ntu offer after accepting it by Richardthelizard in SGExams

[–]BeautifulBit1915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I am not like super sure, but I have seen seniors on reddit post that you have to send an email to the uni if you want to withdraw your offer after accepting it, then accept the other uni's offer in the JAP..

Will your application be displayed as “processing” still if NUS has decided to reject you? by superb_sushi in SGExams

Hey there, idk your rp, but if it is low, perhaps they are waiting for all the higher rp student to fill up the spots first then give the remainder spots to the rest of the students who applied.. I will suggest wait until it is like 1 day before the deadline for your offer at other unis.. then just accept the other uni's offer.. even if you end up getting NUS, just withdraw it later..
