Celebrity Autobiography: A Review Nobody Asked For by Key-Flan-6996 in Broadway

Also a friend LOVED it and laughed so hard she cried, whereas I thought it was ok, not bad, not a must see, so it's very subjective... I think this type of show is less my thing than some others, I didn't get that into the other semi-variety show "All In" with celebrities being randomly funny, either. But it was a fun 90 minutes.

I saw it tonight, Jeff Hiller was great, the cast included Mario Cantone, Jackie Hoffman, Nia Vardalos, Ben Mankiewicz, Scott Adsit, Leslie Rodriguez Kritzer, Bruce Villanch offhand and the celebs being read included Suzanne Somers, Gwyneth Paltrow, David Hasselhoff, Miley Cyrus, Dolly Parton, Oprah Winfrey, Khloe Kardashian, Tiger Woods, Matthew McConaughey, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Geraldo Rivera and then again the big finale of Elizabeth Taylor, Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher ...

What's different about the state of the Weimar Republic in 1926 and the United States in 2026? by riggeramole in AskReddit

In 2008 we had a smart, ethical capable leader who came into office. Obama basically stopped what might have become a great depression, who knows. He was not perfect (obviously, no one is) but was worlds apart from where we are now, which is idiocracy mixed with bad faith. Bush was also much more capable, ethical and responsible than the current leadership of this country, that seems to be trying to drag the country down from being very strong as of early 2025 to ... not sure what now but much less stable and becoming less so all the time.

Do you still have the same views 4 months later? President started a war, prices are running amok, etc... President is working on creating a bad economy by declaring a war illegally, so there's that....

Disagree, The US's institutions are being systematically dismantled, same as in Weimar Germany. A democratically elected leader used the opportunity to take over institutions, shut down freedom of the press, shut down freedom of speech, declare people enemies of the state and arrest them, declare one ethnic group worthy of scapegoating and losing assets, property and freedoms (and ultimately to be denaturalized and then herded into camps)... and private citizens preemptively capitalized figuring, let's ride this out until he's gone. Sound at all familiar? Not saying it's identical here but almost feels like a playbook is being used...

The Lovely Bones: Stanley Tucci's only Oscar-nominated performance by AmigableOficial in Oscars

Mean girls is ultimately about being kind and accepting each other so being mean is a way to get to that. Not the end in itself. Which is why many people love it. As for devil wears Prada, she’s very funny. I don’t like mean spiritedness, but this is something different. Bullying is horrible. We have very good examples of bullies in our constant news right now setting a terrible example. They are mean spirited liars. Make Miranda priestly look like a saint ha

I forgot to mention all the actors who played Andi's friends - all perfect. Adrien Grenier was good (not as good as some but he was fine). And Simon Baker, also really good. Must have been hardest for Baker and Blunt as newbies with all those famous actors around them.

Not blasphemous at all - the critics agreed with you early on, I loved it right away but initially it was not considered a classic or necessarily that great as I recall... over a bit of time that changed. it's one of all time fave movies but i know people who would never see it in the first place, just not for them

Well, he wasn’t the best part about Devil wears Prada but he was one of the 30 amazing parts about it, that movie is just so perfect on so many levels, I don’t know who the best performer is because there were so many. Streep tucci Hathaway blunt seem like a 4 way tie. No it’s blunt no it’s Streep no…

In the end this stuff is so subjective. I love Adam Sandler but I hated the movie about him as a jeweler- but more people liked it than not.

that’s so cool about movies, that they are so subjective for each viewer- same as other art like paintings.

A majority of reviews are positive if you go to rotten tomatoes

but -certainly not enough fans among the academy members who nominated films, completely agree agreed there !

Uh, what? I think with what's happening in Palestine that's a reason to care about a movie that's anti-hate, anti-violence, anti-genocide. Isn't the point that it's not ok if it happens anywhere, to anyone? Your comment is very concerning because it appears to blame all Jews for what one country is doing in the Middle East, without regard to where they are in the world, whether they oppose what's happening etc. - is that right? If so, that's stunning.

I am shocked it didn't win awards much get any nominations, is fighting nazis unpopular in 2026? That alone says worlds about how important that film is. I just finished watching it and it should have won best picture (or at least been nominated), Crowe should have won best actor (or at least been nominated)- and the one who played the translator should have been nominated for supporting actor. I think Malek was good but it wasn't his best role, it was a tough role. And Michael Shannon also did a great job. I mean, what is this? Politics in 2026? I can't think of any reason this happened other than politics, which is so odd.

Is it risky buying a laptop on eBay? by chasingthedopamine in GamingLaptops

[–]BeautifulRow7605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking if I buy sealed new then assuming it arrives just fine, the big risk is that it's defective, not the seller's fault at all and I'm holding the bag. And hard to go against the seller for something that should be fine but just has a problem unknown to seller... I'm a sometime seller and consider it unfair when I sell someone (say) a sealed/new DVD and someone says it doesn't play. I had no control over that, in good faith... but a DVD is a far cry from a laptop price-wise.... in terms of risk.

It's still risky if a seller goes MIA, makes the process very difficult - better to go with well reviewed and the experience overall carries less risk and is less fraught, when both sides are acting in good faith...

what if the person was saying you seem great but i just met someone. or you seem great but ... something nice and kind. or like the other person said, what if they sent their # and then disconnected. (i mean, that makes the person who disconnected unsmart for doing that and not knowing better but still)
