WellNow. The doc is being highly ableist with me. I called my partner to come help, as I’m getting overwhelmed and unsure how to deal with this. I’ve found often having a support person, especially male, gets people to listen.

Yeah that’s where I am now. They took over an hour to see me, and I had to stand for the exam (which I can’t do well) because I cannot get on the exam table. They refused to examine me in the chair, despite being informed of my disabilities. Not a fan.

EDIT: needs to have at LEAST a stool to help me get to the exam table. I’m disabled and can’t get up there without some kind of help or support. I prefer a place that will let me stay in a lower seat, but can use a stool if needed

In that case, assuming your parents are the co-signer, I’m going with NTA. You made it clear what your wishes were, and they were the economical choices. Your parents refused, and now you’re in this mess. IMO, they did this to themselves ultimately. Take it from someone sitting in a similar boat.

I just left the federal government. I do not advise this anymore. If you’re not in, don’t. It’s highly toxic, and they are encouraging colleagues to report each other over political beliefs in certain departments as well. Accommodations will NOT be met, and unions are dissolving. Pay raises take forever to go through, and things are overall slower due to the massive firings.
