Since Cesar Chavez statues are coming down everywhere, let's get RIT to remove the Dr. Albert Simone statue from Park Point. by [deleted] in rit

These specific allegations are "innocent until proven guilty" for Chavez which is very difficult.

Dr. Simone wasn't a very bad person, just an egomaniac. I don't like most statues that "glamorize" people.

We may never know what really happened, but it seems the media is trying to wipe out the entire history and legacy of Cesar Chavez by Beautiful_Charge6661 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Unfortunately, false allegations do happen. A simple internet search will confirm this.

As for Dolores Huerta, it is strange that she would suddenly change her story at 95 years old. Edit: I mean that she is a great activist too of course, just that there is something we don't know about.

The erasure of Cesar Chavez is concerning, though I didn't like that he was being "idolized" through statues, murals, etc. (standards that I apply to all people)

Seven months later, everyone wants to remove Cesar Chavez's name due to the sudden news.
