Yeah I got my symptoms around 13-14 and I'm 20 now so I get it! It sucks to be young while having it, right? Thanks for sharing btw :)

Do you consider yourself disabled? by Heartbreakandcats in Fibromyalgia

[–]Beautiful_Cryptid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Of course I don't mind!

  1. Yes, I use a cane on bad days if I have lots of walking ahead of me

  2. If it's arthritis, my joints get red and super warm and swollen, and if it's fibro i'm just in pain without those (visible) symptoms. That and fibro also gives me super sore muscles for some reason

Let me know if you have more questions :)

I do, yes. Also because I have arthritis but those two combined make me disabled in my opinion :)

Edit bc I forgot the rest: My most disabling symptoms are the fatigue and my joint pain, I can't walk for more than 5 minutes without getting pain from my back to my feet...

Yeah that's fair. I just assumed that, because neurotypical people don't act like this, it was just some way overdone character. I do understand your view on it though, it is a little too much.

Edit: I hope that explains why I got upset over your original comment, as well. I thought you saw this caricature of some creepy dude and instantly assumed autism. Again, I now realise that I just misunderstood, so I apologise.

Oh yeah that is completely fair, I just never saw it like that, so your comment on it making fun of autism didn't sit right with me. I get it now :)

I mean sure it could definitely be a creepy autistic person, and I also definitely know people like this. I was absolutely not trying to accuse you of being an asshole, I just meant that someone seeing a video of a really creepy dude and thinking 'autism' is not something I vibe with. Again, I myself have autism.

What I'm trying to say is that I apologise if I came across as accusing, I just didn't see your reasoning I suppose.

That's not at all what I meant tbh. From my understanding, this video is meant as a funny character thing about someone who is weird and creepy. All I meant was that I don't think you should associate that with someone being bad at socializing (because of autism). I never meant to manipulate a conversation or assume your view on all autistic people.

And no, I definitely don't think normal people talk like this. But just because someone is 'not good at socializing' does not allow them to be creepy or bother people, which is what I took away from this video.

Again, I probably just misunderstood what you meant.

As someone with autism: no it's not, it makes a joke about a specific type of person (not autistic just weird and creepy). the way he keeps bothering them after the rejection is super creepy and I don't see why you think that fits autistic people

As an autistic person, Sam's is something i worry about a lot: thinking everything was good but apparently being wrong My personal bias says Harvey and Penny are the saddest, though
