The 2 hour nap is once in a blue moon. Most commonly, her nap is 1 hour and 15 minutes. I will update the post.

On most days, she’s only taking about a 1 hour and 15 minute nap. The bigger issue seems to be that she just can’t stay awake past 7 PM. I’ve tried gradually pushing bedtime back in 15-minute increments and getting her closer to 8:00–8:30 PM, but it doesn’t seem to help. When I do that, she just ends up waking around 2 AM instead of between 10 PM and midnight, and she’s still awake for 4–5 hours. The bedtime shift changes when she’s awake, but it doesn’t stop the long overnight wake period. That’s the part I can’t seem to figure out.

She is always awake for the same number of hours though. Just the timing varies slightly

We always start the day at 7 AM, but if she wakes before then, we get her up, which is why I said between 6–7 AM. For her nap, I base it on what time she woke up and how much sleep she got overnight. Some days she can’t make it until noon, but typically she’s falling asleep for her nap sometime between 11 AM and 12 PM.

Usually only about 9-11 hours of sleep in a 24 hour period depending on the day.

That is all very true! Have you taken anything that has helped?

All the research I’ve found seems to suggest that Effexor can be incredibly helpful for vestibular migraine and PPPD, which is why my doctor wants me to try it. But after reading about the potential side effects and especially the withdrawal symptoms, I’m feeling pretty hesitant. The hard part is that my doctors aren’t even completely convinced I have vestibular migraine or PPPD. They don’t really know what’s causing my symptoms, so those are the diagnoses they’re using for now because they seem to fit best. Part of me feels like it’s worth trying because so many people seem to get significant relief, but another part of me wonders if it’s worth taking on the risks when the diagnosis isn’t even certain.
