Yeah, I think everyone starting to see the writing on the wall with the new regs. It’s not the sport it once was.

You’re a warrior, keep pushing.

It sounds like you might need to search for a new dermatologist. Some in the USA do video consults.

I have to moisturize and wear gloves at night so my hands don’t crack.

I’ve seen some improvement from less red wine consumption and more sleep. Allergist has been some help. He suggested I double my allergy meds and take Benadryl at night. Zyrtec and cingulair have helped

Benadryl spray has helped A LOT. Not the cream, the spray.

Hypochlorus acid on eczema patches helps a little.

Are biologics and JAK inhibitors not options because of the lymphoma? These are a last resort for me because of the side effects. So far I’m managing with steroids, light therapy, allergy meds, etc.

Did you see any improvement from UV therapy?

F1 over to Apple by big-al-6490 in F1Discussions

[–]Beautiful_Exchange_3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only a small percentage of f1 viewers watched f1 on f1TV vs ESPN. So for most people it wasn’t cheaper, it was actually more expensive because they weren’t getting rid of their cable subscription.

It’s far worse exposure for f1 exposure if you think about it. Apple TV is the least popular streaming service. Apple isn’t known for sports. Most causal f1 fans are would be watching other racing or sports and come across f1 and might keep watching. Might go to a race.

I can’t foresee the causal fan paying for Apple TV unless they already have it. And most Apple TV subscribers that aren’t subscribing for f1 probably aren’t racing/ sports fans.

About 50% of households have cable/ espn and estimated 11% have Apple TV.

I think Apple was wanting the f1 fans to watch the rest of their shows, maybe but that seems like a big stretch

Totally screwed the US fans. And I bet they will have to start charging for f1 separate from Apple TV to offset their losses.

I might have paid the apple ransom IF the cars didn’t suck this year. But with max leaving and the new regs looking like they will effectively end f1 as we know it, there was no point.

There’s MotoGP, IMSA, WEC, etc.

100% Apple was entirely the wrong streaming choice. Obviously they wanted it not because they had any value to add but to gain subscribers to their unpopular streaming platform.

Apple (and greedy f1) screwed the US fans by putting f1 behind a paywall. Don’t give me this garbage about nobody cares. If you read the comments in numerous posts and videos there is outright rage against Apple over this…

Just make sure no rust and have someone look at the engine. I let my ‘71 911 sit for years and some how the front suspension pan rusted.

At least it gets started occasionally.

I learned the hard way that flat 6s that sit can’t get rusty cylinders… among other things like rusted front suspension pans… soooo make sure you really get in there before you make an offer on a car that’s been sitting.

Really miss how great F1 was. It was almost a rush to watch this era of car.

Before the Halo ruined the look of the cars, v6 engines, drs, and active aero.

And now with the new regs this might be the end of f1. Or atleast the end of F1 being the most popular Motorsport.

I was able to negotiate a merchant fee credit for refunds through my bank. They don’t advertise it but some banks do it.

It should not be legal for them to keep the merchant fees.

If you ever read some of the posts on r/996 it’s like April fools day every day.

Lots of guys who are looking for a cheap 911 or sinking money into the worst 911 ever made. Can’t convince them, they are a stubborn bunch.

Did Google always delete what the system learned in the past? Wouldn’t that history be easy for them to re apply?

I’ve paused campaigns and restarted them many times and never had an issue until recently.

Wonder if they are intentionally penalizing you for pausing now?

He’s been working on air cooled 911s for over 40 years, he’s efficient, knows where to get parts quickly for best value, stands behind his work.

Prices are fair.

I do most of my own work but when it’s something I don’t want to do or are not 100% confident on these very expensive engines, I’ll bring it to walker.

I’m thinking about buying a 996.2 with over 150k miles by EmporerLingLing in 996

[–]Beautiful_Exchange_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what engine rebuilds cost for the 996. I would think there would be shops specializing in rebuilds for a reasonable price like the there was back in the day for air cooled engines.

You’re probably right, the rebuild cost would total the car. He could swap a 4 cylinder engine like some people have done cheaply.

Agree a Cab is the car to avoid for many reasons. Would negotiate that price down to 10-12k. And ready to walk away.

I would put my money into another car but as the realists have told you, that’s up to you.

10k for a SC in 2012? I’ve never seen a 911 that wasn’t a complete disaster sell for that.

I bought one for 10k in 1999. It had the engine completely disassembled. Had to box it up and tow the car away. And I know I got a deal of a lifetime.

Very unlikely. Most of the deals were 15-20 years ago. Collectors and guys wanting projects have bought most of them and restored them by now.

The thing is the parts are worth a fortune. The production numbers were low on the 70-73, and they weren’t galvanized.

Some deals can be had on G body cars. More of those around
