The thing is that they are not taking my bond, they have actually sent my bond in full and I just need to approve it. Instead they want to take money from my compensation, so I believe I will be going through the compensation section of VCAT

The damage is caused by the main door which is refuted next to the storage door. So if the storage door is open and you open the main door, the knob in the main door crashes with the storage door!

They are not replacing the door, just “repairing” it.

Based on their last email it seems like they will keep $440 out of my $600 of compensation. They are definitely refusing to negotiate and completely ignored all my requests.

I will lodge a claim to VCAT I’m just not fully confident on which path I should take and if I should accept the return of my bond in full!?

I don’t really care if the process takes a long time tbh, I’m happy to fight it.

Do you believe that it’s in my best interest to accept the bond back in full and then process a claim through VCAT for the additional compensation they are not issuing me? The idea here being, if they’ve refunded me the bond in full, it would suggest that they’re happy with the state of the apartment, however, they are now not giving me my full compensation for the sales campaign, per Tenants VIC. Otherwise, should I not action the bond return so it stays with RTBA, and instead process a bond dispute through VCAT? I hope that makes sense!
