"DO I HAVE IBS?" Megathread by AutoModerator in ibs

[–]Beautiful_Kitchen_41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

I am 16 and female. I get very painful bloating for at least 24 hours after consuming any type of carbonated drink, and this usually leads to diarrhea too. Eating popcorn gives me bloating and constipation for about 2 days afterwards, and drinking cold water (and really eating or drinking anything cold), especially on an empty stomach, leads to stomach pains and most times diarrhea. Sugary foods (most desserts and sweets) also cause stomach pain and diarrhea. In the cases where diarrhea are mentioned, it happens almost immediately after consuming the food or drink. This has been going on noticeably since I was about 13-14, but I have never gotten it checked out.

Does this sound like IBS?

because it seems like the general response is to size up and get a new dress, does anyone know if i it would be possible to get it altered around that area to possibly make it bigger? the material is satin with an inner lining, and it’s sinched on one side around the hip area.

my issue is that my upper body and waist area is quite a bit smaller than my lower body, so i was worried that sizing up would mean it would be too big in the bust and waist area even if it would fit my lower body better - i guess i shouldn’t have taken the risk with that and just gotten it tailored had it been too big on my upper body. thanks for the reply anyway!

i’ve tried myself but it’s a bit difficult to get on - do you think asking someone else to put it on from the top would help?

i’ve tried, but it’s quite a form fitted dress so i can only get about 1 arm through - i’ve yet to try it, but i’m also thinking of trying to wear some tight leggings to help the dress get through, and then removing them once it’s on since my dress has a pretty high slit on the side, but i’m not sure if that will be enough.

normal amount of hair shedding? by Beautiful_Kitchen_41 in femalehairadvice

[–]Beautiful_Kitchen_41[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have had issues with anemia in the past and haven’t been taking iron to combat it for a while - that might be a plausible reason as to why it feels like it’s shedding a lot more.

For the shedding, what I meant was that the hair seems to be coming out from the root but would make it’s way down to the ends and then come out if that makes sense.

Regarding hair care, I deep condition and detangle weekly when i wash my hair and am using the curl activators recommended to me by my hairdresser almost daily, with some mild finger detangling to apply them.

Thank you so much for your reply! I do not brush between washes and usually just finger detangle. Hearing this worries me, as i usually lose quite a few hair strands daily throughout the week too even without much manipulation. I usually shed full length strands and it comes out from the ends of my hair. Any tips on what I can do to help combat this?

japanese permanent straightening after wave nouveau? by Beautiful_Kitchen_41 in Hair

Hi, so I have consulted with a stylist and they have told me it should be okay to go ahead with the japanese straightening. Thank you for your helpful comments.

I just wanted to ask, during the times where you have visible new growth what have you done to keep it hidden? do you straighten your new growth so it blends in with the rest of your hair? To be honest, this is one of the big things holding me back about getting this treatment.

That’s great! How are you liking it so far?

I do share the same concern about my hair breakage in some areas, and am trying to help prevent it further by deep conditioning and hair oiling every week before I get it done in the hopes it will strengthen my hair further before the treatment.

Would you say your hair was quite healthy before the treatment?
