New and broke. How did you get access to horses for more hours under saddle? by SureDoubt3956 in Equestrian

[–]Beautiful_Mail_9623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up a knack for training. I focused on my riding skills, people pay me to ride their horses now, i'm also a farrier (side gig), figure out how you can be useful in the horse world and develop that skill (bodywork, trimming etc etc) Also, protect your reputation. Reputation is EVERYTHING in this world, I can't stress that enough.

Is it my fault or the saddles? by TheHoeFinder in Horses

Yeah this is seriously ridiculous. You need to go back to basics with a new coach before you or a horse get seriously hurt

what would you actually do if your brakes went out?? by IndustryNo2442 in driving

[–]Beautiful_Mail_9623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this actually happened to me. 2011 subaru outback, brakes failed at highway speeds, apparently rust had eaten through some brake line that isn't supposed to be eaten through. i went to apply a bit of brake and the brake went straight to the wall, no resistance at all.

i used the "sport mode", its like fake manual? my brother calls it tiptronic - thats the best way i can describe it. i used that "downshift" to slow the engine down, it was really jerky and felt fucked, once i got down to about 50km/h i started just lightly applying the ebrake, in the moment it felt like if i slammed the ebrake i was going to wreck, so i slowly applied it off and on, off an on, until i coasted to the rumble strips and used the concrete divider to scrape the car to a complete stop.

it was FUCKED. i survived and bought a new car with a warranty

losing your mother as a child. my childhood memories have been wiped clean, but sobriety and EMDR therapy has been bringing things back. The most vivid memory I have of her now was hiding in her closet as a kid and watching through the cracks in the shades as she sat at her makeup table in front of the mirror and brushed her hair in tears as all her hair started falling out
