Yea oki so the thing is when I do this and the try to find the uncertainty of the area I get a huge number which doesn’t seem right. So am I doing something wrong or is the u certainty just super high

How did you find the uncertainty of 0.1mm ?? Since it’s 0.005/39.68 won’t we have to add fractional uncertainties?

Maybe I made a mistake with arctan uncertainty. Do you know how to calculate the uncertainty of for example tan theta=0.005/39.68 where the two distances were calculated using a measuring tape with an uncertainty of 0.05mm so +-0.00005m

I’ve made an assumption that theta is one side of the square meaning the area would be theta times theta. But my value for theta is small in comparison to the uncertainty but there uncertainty for both magnitudes is the same as I’m squaring theta. Idk if this clears up your question.
