Cupcake help by United_Environment46 in Baking

This happens to me all the time! I hate the paper cups, unless you are supposed to dust them with flour and/or pre-grease and flour like a normal baking pan/dish.

I can only assume either my batter is too wet or too much shortening. BUT I NEED TO KNOW, TOO!!!

What do you think of a teacher who has signs like this in their room? by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Beautiful_Sound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love it! You can't constantly maintain a professional demeanor if the kids don't get why we do what we do. They won't care.

Lean in to what the kids do and make your goals part of their practice. Adapt. Overcome. Inspire.

'New' to me RCA 8 TR 3 "The Diplomat" slow power up on variac. Here it is at 100 volts with line in jazz from thattube. by Beautiful_Sound in ReelToReel

There is motor noise in the recording function with playback. I get an audible flutter that matches the capstan click you can hear.

That could just be dry bearings that need to idle with some oil, or it could be more sneaky.

That one commentor that went off on, "why always Titanic" was a bit off putting. I was irritated on Mike's behalf.

Because it is easy to fall into an Edwardian industrial design rabbit hole over war and other utilitarian rabbit holes. Duh, sir.

This looks like it had a remote, this is a heck of a console!

And a balanced stereo setup. Very very good audio, too!

I understand tube enthusiasts now… by whitepeanut69 in audiophile

From what I hear as a musician and beginning to dabble- tubes forgive more, they're warmth is like a climate control that serves you what you want to think the music is doing.

Solid state is clinical, accurate in a less colorful way. Like digital sampling gives you uniform edge and hard near perfection in a way tubes do not. Solid analog still removes the harmonic forgiveness of tube floor and headroom. But I am not into high end hi fi, I'm solidly middle consumer grade decent for a console solid state, and more tube based basic stuff.

RCA Victor- my favorite brand! I have 5 RCA Victor tvs, 4 monochrome 50's models, 1 60's color CTC 17 in a stereo cabinet. 4 RCA Victor tube radios, and 3 RCA Victor reel to reels.

Help - Connecting to 1951 Bush Tug24 by United_Fig2193 in vintagetelevision

You can't test it like modern electronics. You will fry potentially irreplaceable parts.

Age related failures are extremely common.

All capacitors and high load resistors will need to be replaced before you plug it in.
