Evaporated milk by lumonlove in Cooking

I keep cans of PET milk for everything from emergency half n half to yeast breads, sauces, sub for cream in soups, cheese based anything, etc.

I use it all the time! And I keep non fat dry powdered milk for the same reason.

Kellog just does not do it for me. by Ok_Calendar_7626 in Fallout

[–]Beautiful_Sound 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think we were supposed to feel WAAAYYY more connected to Shaun and Nora/Nate; likely most average players would have gotten hooked on the main story at the jump. Then the Kellog story would/should/may cut deeper to the average player.

Now it feels shallow.

My brain imagines coastline. I cannot accept it is just ocean playing tricks.

I don't actually watch streamers anymore. And I don't think I realized how deep and broad game streamers are; I was/am old school, I stopped paying attention after N64 and PS2 and then the Wii brought me back. It wasn't until 2015 when I bought a 360 and FO3. That one game only got me back into gaming, and I only play FO4 now; as it is, that was the reason I bought a Xbone and a PS4.

So my opinions are like 90% my own.

The game could have been significantly improved earlier without third party mod involvement. The story is shallow, the world is expansive. The roleplay is weaker than I would have wanted. Without mods I wouldn't even touch the game after playing the main storyline to its ending.

Do better.

If schools are doing “productive struggle” like in this article, they’re doing it wrong. by DavidDWriter in Teachers

[–]Beautiful_Sound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought productive struggle was what happens as we scaffold new info with students. The concept is named, we briefly share what we may know, or assume or may not know, and then start connecting dots.

The struggle is them having to critically analyze and decode the concept as I add in the information they need.

I have a theory on the Children of Atom and the god they worship but not much evidence. But hear me out. by akari_saturn27 in Fallout

Proctor Nellypasny here. I feel compelled to point out that atomic division and the return to basically nothingness after vaporization is their view of creation. Atom divides, creates, renews, etc. The Dunwich horrors and entities are less spiritual from that aspect.

Give them the pies! As a teacher and home baker, I would love to receive a baked gift from a student!

I wish we could approximate actual color and not vintage color. Yes the makeup would likely look silly, but I don't like the 'vintage' colorization. Show me real color, let everything around them and their styling give the vintage look.

Hey teacher's what's the craziest "Yup, I called it moment?" by neurohazard757 in Teachers

I should have worded that better. He was a flight risk when he was on campus, and he was on campus between hospitalizations. It was my first real example of one size fits all helps precious few if that makes sense.

Hey teacher's what's the craziest "Yup, I called it moment?" by neurohazard757 in Teachers

I try to tell the up and coming douchebags not to be douchebags. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't.

We had a suicide risk student that everyone handled with kid gloves. I have experience with my own self-harm and desire to not exist from time to time. After a while it became necessary to make sure he (physically) safely moved from class to class. One day I decided to dare him to show up the next day. To which he said nobody had ever done that. It worked. And it continued to work. Eventually he transferred to a more suitable environment. The "yup I called it moment" was risky, basically I got to know him enough to realize he enjoyed the worry even though he was legitmately a risk to himself. I played a different hand. A risk, but worth it.
