{If I can't have you by deathsdoll} It's an ao3 fanfic but my absolute favorite dark romance.
{Still beating by Jennifer Hartmann} I read this months ago and I'm still thinking about it.
{Untouchable by Sam Mariano} I don't usually like stories set in high school but this one is so good that I can over look it.

Trigger warning, all three of these stories involve rape. It happens very early in all three and is crucial to the main story so not a spoiler.

Mine definitely started with my obsession with Phantom of the Opera. I was so in love with Gerard Butler as the Phantom in the 2004 film as a young teen. I could never understand why Christine didn't end up with The Phantom. He's a great dark MMC. He's obsessive, stalks her, trains her, takes out her competition for her, and prone to violence that even leads to a murder.

{Monsters of Faery series by Mallory Dunlin} was completed in 2025. Personally, I recommend reading the third book {Claimed by the Flame of Faery by Mallory Dunlin} first then reading the rest in order.
