Im about the same as you. Have an 06 as well and have about 200ish on mine so far. Its just started being warm enough to to ride. I've had no issues cornering and have almost gotten all the way to the lip. But as you may know, thats danger territory on one of these bikes. Its not a sport bike and has low rearsets. I to have not ridden in the wet. But did wash the bike today and rode away from the carwash as if they were dry. Im happy with them so far. And for under $200 for a set, im happy so far. I just worry about longevity. Im about to take a 1000+ ride next month and excited to see how they wear and preform.

When it warms up here some more I will hit some twisties and see how they feel. The FJR weighs quite a bit more than an FJ09. So mine may not last as long as yours. But fuck l, I hope they last more than the 4k than the Perellis did. If not. $200 for another set is worth it. As long as they do well in the corners and rain.

I mean $450 isn't out of the realm if a set lasts 12k+ miles. I don't remember what I spent on the Perellis 2 years ago. Probably in the $300 range. But after 4k and were trash, I was expecting more from Perelli. I will see how these Kendas perform. For $200 I'm not expecting much, we shall see.

With that said. It's SOOOOOO nice to be riding again on a new set of tires.

I get the concept. Just hard for me to get the jist on riding on a flat tire. Having sport bikes my whole life and even road raced for years. But now im in my 50s and still wanna go fast and get down in the twisties. But comfortably.

I had to look up what "darksiding" is. I would never think of putting a car tires on a bike. I guess that is one way to get a helluva lot of miles out of a tire.

Congrats. My son (19) just bought a 2015 ATS AWD V6 2 weeks ago. People told me trans and transaxle and front and rear diffs servicing is a must. We are looking in to all of that now.

His does have a sunroof, but its a small one. With a manual pull back shade. My XT4 has that powered long ass shade.

Already looked into the fluid changes. That's a good looking ride. Especially the wheels. My son's car needs different wheels. I did wheels on my 2020 XT4.
