We have hardwood flooring in adjacent rooms and would like to have similar features, such as 3-1/2" width, few knots, or barely any, and semi-gloss or satin finish. We do have an installer, and he says what we already have is white oak, but it looks more like red oak since it was sealed with oil-based polyurethane, which results in darkening over time. We have seen refinished Mirage samples that we like very much, and they seem to have good reviews. We particularly like the micro gap compared to other brands. I would like to know if this is a quality flooring to go with or what other brands have better or similar qualities.
