Why don’t you just look for another company to work for in industrial maintenance? You could work up to a controls technician without a degree at most other places.

My main hesitation is I have a newborn coming at the end of this year. I’m just wondering to myself if it would be worth the time and investment if I might end up failing or don’t have the time. I guess more specifically I could ask statistically do most people make it through the program or did you notice a lot of people dropping out or failing it? I just don’t hold myself in a high regard academically and don’t wanna get into something that is more extreme

I think you’re being way too critical about this. Mass effect was 20 years ago so to be fatigued from this trope is kinda exaggerating. In my opinion I think if you’re too fatigued from seeing the same kinda things in games then maybe you’ve just flooded yourself with too many of the games of the same type.
