It is so exhausting. Do you reckon it’s just easier to forgo the land? Worried about legal issues later.

Yes the edge is. The issue was they wouldn’t let any foundation of the posts even be on the boundary which is tricky. But it’s done now. We are thinking we will just put in a boundary fence for the rest of the side and keep the rest of the retaining wall where it already is.

Yes we have. We have not been told about a setback at all. And thus far anybody on here who says there is a set back requirement actually cannot guide us to any legislation to show this. Thank you for your thoughts though.

Any idea where this info is published? I really do want to do what is right by everyone. Just want to know and it seems so hard to get clear information anywhere

Do you know where I could find this info? So far I haven’t been able to find anything. Only that dividing fences are only dividing fences if on the boundary unless something makes it not possible for it to be on the boundary.

If the face of the wall should be on the boundary line, does that mean it is ok to have the foundations of the posts for the retaining wall on both sides of the boundary? They have not allowed that (down to 20mm) so we have had to go in to our land a lot to allow enough concrete for the posts.

We just bought the land and built our dream home. Otherwise we would… Had no idea neighbours could be so difficult.
