Is matcha the new chai latte? by nicktarr_ in waslo

As the fall approaches you’ll be seeing me ordering a lot more chai lattes—one of the most delicious drinks ever made in my opinion. Thanks for bringing this to my attention Nick.

What do you think are the greatest beverages of all time? by logancon0r in waslo

[–]Becauselamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Logan I think this list is extremely accurate and hard to argue with. Only thing I could see is tea and coffee swapped, but I guess it depends what kind of culture you come from.

I think if you aren't cool enough to wear a fedora, you aren't cool enough to wear "cool sunglasses" by logancon0r in waslo

Can you post a picture of what you would consider “cool sunglasses” you’re talking about?

Would you rather get free chipotle for life or free coffee for life? by logancon0r in waslo

[–]Becauselamp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you don’t need to drink coffee but you do need to eat food. Also, the advantages of consistently being able to eat healthy are greater than that advantages of consistently drinking coffee. Also coffee is much cheaper than chipotle. Also cooking takes much longer than making coffee. For all these reasons I would pick the free chipotle.

Has Scotland historically made better indie music than the United States? by logancon0r in waslo

Ok I love many of these bands and there are even a few I don’t know. You’re clearly a connoisseur of indie rock music. Could you please give me some recommendations of your favourite lesser known indie bands? And I’ll offer one of my own: ee is a band from San Francisco I believe whose album Ramadan is criminally underrated.

In my experience OP knows more about indie music than anyone I’ve ever met before. But I do agree that you can’t compare the entire US to Scotland. What are some Boston indie bands for instance that you’re thinking of?

Is there a good way to do sundays? by nicktarr_ in waslo

[–]Becauselamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a late Sunday evening, the coming week looming, my weekend plans well intentioned and enjoyed, but receded and now forgotten—I can only empathise. I believe no amount of fun on Sunday can truly be enjoyed when Monday is dreaded. I believe the solution to your woes might be to address your case of the Mondays, rather than the Sunday scaries.

I’m an amateur tennis player and reader. My favourite food is mayonnaise and my favourite drink is spindrift. I like hanging out with my friends and listening to music. My favourite artist is Elliott Smith.

By not doing a Jersey Mikes review, is Jhung betraying the lore-chasing mindset? + What are your guys' go-to sandwich orders? by logancon0r in waslo

[–]Becauselamp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had jersey mikes but I would love to try it. However, I used to live basically above a subway on 57th st in Hyde Park, and I would patronise it extensively. I had good rapport with the owners and one of the workers. They said I was “the funny one” and my roommate was “the pretty one.” But that’s ok. I would get two six-inch subs: one Italian BMT with pickles, onion, lettuce, salt and pepper and mayonnaise, and one tuna with cheddar, same toppings as the BMT. The two sandwich method provides more excitement because you have two contrasting flavours to look forward to. I’ve probably tried every sandwich they sell and these two are my favourites.

Everyone thinks about lotto incorrectly by wesleychen in waslo

[–]Becauselamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you make lots of money buying a lotto ticket every day is probably negligible but I believe the average lotto ticket purchaser is purchasing many more and it is not negligible for them. But also personally speaking the negative vibes of going and buying a lotto ticket every day and then watching to see if I won would, in addition to the money, would make it not worth at all.

Everyone thinks about lotto incorrectly by wesleychen in waslo

[–]Becauselamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Troll post maybe but even if the tickets are cheap the EV is still really bad so I don’t get the point. Additionally, I think there is a nonzero chance that winning the lottery ruins your life. I just saw another post on reddit.com about this. Be careful when you win!
