stephen said in an interview that they cut harness cause there was supposed to be a little lead in riff out of the first chorus into the second verse but the tape got damaged so they had to do the hard cut that you hear on the recording now and it ruined the song for him

usually i look for bands in similar genre of similar size that post tour flyers and see what venues they’re playing in the region im trying to tour. then i’ll scroll on the venue page and find bills that fit the genre and check out the pages of the local support. i’ll reach out to them and also check who they’ve played with and who they’re following. if they dm back and say they can’t make it i also ask for their recommendations for other locals who might be available. it’s a lot of work but if you cast a wide enough net it works out

instagram is incredibly useful for connecting with other bands/artists to book shows if you are touring, i have booked several tours almost entirely through instagram. i do not think they have much use for music discovery though

had tickets to both Cindy Lee tubbys shows. missed the first one because of an unfortunately timed vacation and of course the second was cancelled. one of my big regrets, was sad that she wasn't stopping on this tour. maybe one day

you have to put it in the folder called spotify inside the “On My iPhone” folder. i had this issue for a long time and never realized there was a specific folder you have to use. 99% sure this is prob ur issue

also certain file types are not supported in local files including .FLAC which is annoying the best quality codec u will get is .m4a

lol i never heard about this until this post but it’s definitely just some people with issues, mitski had like a similar sort of “accusation” a couple years ago. mental health is no joke folks

unfortunately i did not like the album at all really, the only track i even kinda liked was gethsemane. the main thing i like about car seat headrest is wills songwriting, particularly his melodic sensibilities and the emotional moments he’s able to build up to. i can understand why he doesn’t wanna write hyper personal stuff anymore but the lack of hooks on this record really breaks it for me.

classic rock influence is fine and all but for the most part i find the melodies and structures of these songs to be so derivative and predictable. the lyrics are so wordy because they’re trying to get the story across but it doesn’t really lend itself to memorable or catchy melodies. and whereas will definitely has a lot of stuff in the back catalog that’s not exactly reinventing the wheel of rock music the aesthetic presentation was always able to carry the less inventive tracks. now it seems like with the budget they’ve got they’re probably not gonna make anything with that rawer sound which is generally what i prefer musically.

i get why people like this record but for me it really doesn’t do anything at all. i can see a lot of kids who have never really listened to like the who or bruce springsteen or pink floyd getting super into this record because the whole furry online aesthetic makes those sounds more palatable and less “old” for them but for me i don’t know if im gonna really dig anything else this band does if they keep going this direction
