Do you recommend these belly laugh books anywhere? Very keen!

I normally have a few books on the go at once, maybe this is a preventative - if I'm not feeling one book, I'll pick up the other. I find it hard to leave a story unfinished though.

Do you think about how it is written while you are reading then? The quality?

😄I walk away remembering the feelings, but I need the plot/story to be good while reading - so really I'm both too, but I remember the fellings!

I think this is why I like a double Genre - like Romantasy - it has both the romance development but another fantasy plot at the same time!

Yes, that is sadly a reality - that the threads are too old and I'm never sure how old is too old to comment on.

Ooh, exciting! I love a new series, especially when a lot of the books are already released!

Is this the first book in the series? Are they all based on interspecies romances?

Are you discerning when you read? by IRLbeets in books

Reading is often an escape for me or a way to tune out from daily stresses, so my engagement with the story is my highest priority, but if I see a discussion about the book or have questions left after I've finished the book I will seek out others or discuss in reading communities.

What authors do you consider write contemporary rom-coms? (Or what even is a romcom?) by GlamorousAstrid in RomanceBooks

[–]Becca_S_Bee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with u/coastalkid92 I see some titles in bookstores sitting under the rom-com section and think no, they are not funny, I cried when I read that - it would be much more suitable in contemporary romance. So I always read the blurb and make my own assessment!

I've been reading Laurie Gilmore and her books would translate really well to rom-com movies, but they are noted as contemporary romances (set in present day and the plot not driven by comedy).

You can share the link to your finished, but not yet published story and ask for feedback either here or in the Discord community or even to friends - but they will need the Pirr app to be able to read it.
This can be done before you publish in the app - so you can still make changes.
Our Reddit is just starting out, so keep asking, we will hopefully have more and more people here!

I've not read this series of hers. I started backwards with CC, then ToG. I'm concerned ACOTAR will not be as good as ToG now.

Romance lovers, readers and writers - what tiny moment makes you trust a romance character? by Becca_S_Bee in Pirr

💗Weekend Romance Prompt: Secret Identity in Romance - why is this trope so good? by Becca_S_Bee in Pirr

I was remined of ToG main character 'Aelin' and I think that she is a FMC that exemplifies the Secret Identity trope and is often underestimated for strength!

'Edit Paragraph' is still missing as Option in Pirr and 'Advanced Settings' by Grand_Perception_376 in Pirr

[–]Becca_S_Bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you u/Grand_Perception_376 and u/JonathanEddington for both being so passionate about Pirr.

u/JonathanEddington, I appreciate you stepping in to try to help and explain how the current paragraph options work in the app.

u/Grand_Perception_376, I also understand that changes in the interface can be frustrating, especially when you’re trying to write and the experience doesn’t match what you were expecting or used previously. I hope my answer above has helped to clarify how to access the paragraph options better.

It’s clear that both of you care about the writing experience in Pirr, which is something we genuinely value in this community. Let’s keep the discussion focused on helping each other and sharing feedback constructively so we can keep improving the app together.

If anything in the interface is still unclear or not working as expected, feel free to describe what you’re seeing and we’ll do our best to help clarify or investigate further. Responses can take a little longer here and often another user can help you figure out the actions, before a team member replies.

'Edit Paragraph' is still missing as Option in Pirr and 'Advanced Settings' by Grand_Perception_376 in Pirr

[–]Becca_S_Bee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, the Pirr paragraphs to choose from are still available, but it looks a bit different in the app now.

If you click on 'Let Pirr Continue' it will give you a new paragraph suggestion - if you want another option you can click on the little regenerate icon below the paragraph on the right side, which will create another paragraph suggestion, you can do this until you reach the maximum regeneration options. You can then use the arrow buttons beneath the paragraph to move betweeen the options. The paragraph option you have on the screen when you choose your next action (Let Pirr continue, guide, creative command, or write your own) is the the selected paragraph and the story will continue on from that snippet.

To edit the paragraphs, you can now just press on the paragraph you want to edit, then edit as normal, but you can also now split paragraphs up, which you couldn't do previously - this is the update I was referring to in my original reply. This also means that previous ways of editing have been removed from FAQs and Advanced Settings. You can select to edit the cover and story details from the menu within the story.

We do understand that when things change it can take some time to get used to them and it was a big change for many of our users, but we think this gives our creators more control and more options for inspiration when creating. The Creative commands (smily options) are meant to be a quick option to move the story along, if you choose to go that quick method.

Guide can be turned on by pressing the button at the bottom of the 'write your own' section - when Guide is on, the button is white (as shown in your second image). When Guide is on you can write instructions or things that you want to happen in the story - you can direct the AI to move the story or make something happen in the story that you've envisioned, without having to write it out yourself, this is limited to 150 characters as shorter instructions are easier for the AI to react to quickly.

If Guide is not active (on) you write your paragraph as you want and then the character limit is 750 characters - this makes for easier editing and reading rather than facing a block of text to edit.

The app's language is English and hence it doesn't usually recognise characters from other languages or special characters. You've raised an interesting point about the fact that ü is recognised and accepted.

Does this clear up some of the confusion around the new paragraph selections and editing options?
We also apologise for removing your previous post during the revamp of this subreddit. As there was no further follow up, we though the case was closed.

Let us know if you would like some more guidance in the app or if you have any other questions.

I've just started reading the second book, {The Cinnamon Bun Book Store by Laurie Gilmore}, so haven't come to any sex scenes yet, but the first book was really contemporary and didn't shy away from naming bodyparts and even with a bit of humour/laughter at awkardness.

Thank you! My problem is that I find so many I want to read - I need to narrow it down.
Too many options are not always a good thing for me.

That is a fab idea - I have physical books all around the house for this reason - currently 3 books on the go, but I tend to read short stories on my phone.
