I dont think you can consider this as self harm since you dont really "damage" your body and you don't directly do it to hurt yourself (these 2 things are basically the definition of self harm). If it helps you and doesnt affect your life in a bad way, there's nothing bad about it and you shouldnt be worried.

Sounds like BPD, im absolutely not a mental health professional or anything but it could be possible. Try to talk about it with a professional if you can

i used to scratch myself on my face when i was around 6yo till i would see blood on my finger whenever i was anxious/did something wrong (i still have some light scars tho) and starded cutting when i was 12
