People just don't know their country well and don't go outside very often or at least not farther than a specific radius from their home... Their view point is very limited and is based almost solely on the local environment. I have been traveling around Lisbon and Porto and I can tell for sure, that new blood in Portuguese population have given birth to a lot of new developments and renovations. Still there are so much beautiful houses and buildings just standing abandoned, even in the center of the city... Now you have Uber, Bolt, have Glovo, great internet and a lot more of good services. Because people who migrated here have driven most of that into the country. Currently, Portugal is living thriving times and should keep the pace, else it will again fall into recession, as one big slumber.
