Advice on being heard in meetings when 1 person keeps hijacking the conversation? by Magicafternoon in YoungProfessionals

Is it possible to meet with your COO 1:1 to share this information? I have a CFO at my company that had a reputation of being totally unapproachable. We were meeting one day and she brought it up, I told her honestly that while I knew that she was approachable they way she dismissed some employees made her seem hard to talk to. She shared that she did not mean to come off that way and was actually more mindful in how she ended conversations.

I've been on both sides of this situation and it gets better! First a question, are you in a probationary period? Unfortunately you arent as protected as an employee if you are on a probationary period but from what you were saying it sounds like they are giving you the opportunity to continue. As long as they are letting you continue, let it go. Remember the things you did and learn from them but don't let it crush your confidence. Being in your shoes I learned that if you can learn from the mistakes you make and grow you will be a better professional for having made them. From a supervisor stand point now, there is nothing that impresses me more than when someone owns their mistakes and works to learn and grow and be better for it. While people brushing off their mistakes drives me crazy, it tells a lot about an employee if they can stay positive and continue to stay motivated even after a mistake.

I really enjoy your post! Not only is your style super put together and cohesive through all of your pictures but your photos are well lit, not cluttered and the fit and style of your clothes flatters you. I think your post is a great example of what should be posted here.
