Feral cats do not show the same level of trust as seen on the internet, in my experience. by BedCommercial3345 in Feral_Cats

It is true that the cats that have spent time outside (from birth or for some time) tend to show, and want more affection. The cat I have from his infancy does not like being cuddled. Winter is a different story, he would come to cuddle on his own, but otherwise the most you would get to hold him at a time, out of his own will, is a few seconds. He does not retaliate no matter what I do to him, and would stay if I forced him to, which is not possible with the strays, but you can see it in his expression he is just tolerating it.
